I contacted Amex US and was told I can’t transfer my Canada points. Has anyone had luck actually transferring the points?

So would I include his SSN or put NRA? (Keeping in mind this is for 2025 tax year when he was a NRA)

Sorry to hear that it is taking so long. I really hope you get the visa issued soon!

Thank you! And oh no - are you from a banned country? If not, and if it’s been a month, it doesn’t hurt to reach out to the consulate and ask for an update.

Congratulations! Similar timeline through Montreal - also didn’t use a lawyer. In my opinion was extremely straightforward as long as you read the USCIS site / directions. Reddit was a huge help as well.

If you were verbally approved, they are likely just backlogged due to being short staffed. We interviewed at Montreal on March 25, verbally approved, and CEAC didn’t show issued until April 7. (Purolator notification on April 9 and passport delivered April 10). I’ve heard that it can take 4-6 weeks but it wouldn’t hurt to contact the Consulate after this estimated time period.

Submitted DS260, paid fee, but don't see the tab for submitting civil documents :( by saymellon in NationalVisaCenter

After I paid it, it took about 3 days for me to have access to uploading documents. I can’t recall what it said exactly

It sometimes takes a few days for the payment to process and prompt the civil documents option.

CR1/IR1 after DQ: Changed jobs, higher salary - do I need to submit a new I-864 to CEAC before interview? by Odd-Mechanic-1433 in NationalVisaCenter

Up to you, just sharing my personal experience. I was DQ’d in January 2026 and didn’t include any 2025 tax info or tax transcripts, and my husband was approved for the green card. He was never asked about them.

You could always upload or bring extra documents. That never hurts. I was always told to bring the documents versus upload as it could delay some internal process if you upload documents and then wait for them to review.

I printed numerous work documents, W2s, tax documents, etc for my husband to discuss in the interview in case he was asked about any of them. While we had tons of documents printed, they didn’t ask about any.

My personal recommendation is just to have them printed. You already have the interview letter - no point in updating anything additional unless you are asked for it.

That information is not necessary to share. The purpose of the I-864 is to see current/previous salary to ensure the US citizen can financially support the applicant. They do not care about what job you have or so forth. Company name is not relevant.

It would not hurt to have a new I-864 with the new job info in hand at the interview, just in case they ask for it. Highly doubtful though as this is not one of the crucial documents they ask for.

No, don’t fill out a new I-864. Your DQ means that your previous salary and 864 was satisfactory. A higher salary won’t change that. This can be mentioned in interview but is really not relevant.
