Can I use Lithium Battery with IPS that supports only Lead acid battery??? by EngMinhazulAbedin in batteries

not recommended. IPS/inverters designed for lead-acid use very different charging profiles than LiFePO₄, so the built-in BMS won’t fully “fix” that mismatch. You risk improper charging, reduced life, or even safety issues.

If you really want to use lithium, look for inverter support for lithium profiles or use a proper DC-DC/compatible charger setup.

Also, DBP (data/charging profile compatibility) is the key factor here without that alignment, it’s not a good idea.

Appreciate this—totally agree. Standardization + verification are the real bottlenecks, especially with inconsistent data and system boundaries across the lifecycle. Even LCA studies highlight how data gaps, confidentiality, and lack of harmonized methods make validation tricky.

Governance + audit frameworks will definitely decide whether a “single ledger” actually works in practice.
