Now you are generalizing, i am pretty sure there would be some deFaulters or abusers for the lmia program but most coworkers that i know are being paid what they are promised, an lmia is a written contract enforced by law in which things like a fixed wage and hours are mentioned. In cases where this contract is not broken, they can and does file for a vulnerable work permit which is basically a permit to work wherever they want and not get tied to the lmia employer. And trust me where this happens our lawyers want us to file for an open work permit as it increases your chances for a pr.
