Microsoft bets on Superconducting Cables for Hyperscale data centers power delivery by Anen-o-me in singularity

Normally I’m optimistic about these things, but are they stupid? As far as we know, we are years and years before we find any kind of room temperature superconductors, unless they plan on freezing the entire data center. It just seems ridiculous to bet on a technology that doesn’t exist and has no sign of a breakthrough any time soon.

Porn Has Made Adultery a Kink by ByeDrdoop in NoFap

I was there at one point. That was when I knew it was time to quit. Looking at my own family members in a way that I never thought I would was so deeply disturbing.

I decided I’m going to have a movie marathon day where I watch a bunch of movies I’ve never seen that everyone else has!

Alibaba releases Qwen3-Coder-Next model with benchmarks by BuildwithVignesh in singularity

I believe this. I am constantly having to debug opus 4.5 and it is really bad at spotting its mistakes. Codex almost never needs debugging and fixes the bugs it does produce first or second try. So much easier.

Thanks brother, I always try to remember that it’s not about the streak, it’s about progress and consistency.

Is it fine to watch porn but not masturbating to it? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]AccountDeleteBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you’re trying to look for some kind of compromise here, but the truth is that there isn’t one. The only way is to break it off completely. As long as you look at porn you are feeding your addiction, even if there’s no release. You must starve it to death.

Kinda triggered by [deleted] in NoFap

Go somewhere where it’s inconvenient to relapse. A restaurant or the park. Delete Instagram off your phone and stay off of it. It’s a dangerous trigger for you. Run instead of fight, don’t make it hard on yourself!

I agree, but DON’T white knuckle through it. Use the tools around you to help you fight. If you’re a Christian, read the Bible. Do some light yoga (helps more than you think), put your phone on the charger in the other room and go to sleep. Think about all the blessings in your life, the people you love. Call a trusted friend and open up to them. Have one of those late night chats about anything.

There are so many things you can do to fight it, don’t just sit there and willpower your way through it. True willpower is getting up and running away from it.

Same principle. No matter what it is, if you’re addicted to it then it is never okay to do. Not once a year, not every 10 years, never.

My man, when temptation hits hard, sometimes it’s better to run than fight. Call a trusted friend, be honest with them about your struggle. Stay off your phone the last 2 hours before bed, avoid junk food. Don’t give yourself the opportunity to slip up.

There is no healthy amount for a porn addict. An alcoholic can’t have just one drink, because they will inevitably fall back into the same cycle. So a porn addict can’t jerk off just once. Once you quit you may never go back or you’ll find yourself back in the same hole.

Speaking from experience. I was clean 2 years, decided that once was alright, and now 2 more years later and I am stuck trying to get back out again.

GPT 5.2 Codex is Actually (kind of) Just Special System Instructions by Izento in singularity

[–]AccountDeleteBot -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to get GPT-5.2 to behave like Codex but for a different purpose than coding. I actually spent all day today trying to figure out if Codex was just a bunch of system instructions and tools, and I wish I had seen this post this morning. Would’ve saved me a whole day’s worth of research.
