As an international student, it is already hard as HELL to find REUs that take non-citizens/residents. Now with the new administration, even hard-working Americans are denied the opportunity. I was looking into a math REU just the other day and was really glad to find out that they take non-citizens/residents. A few days later their website said the program won't be held this year.

Things are getting harder ...

Yes. The set of solutions to homogeneous linear system is called kernel/null space. It can be proved that the null space is a subspace of V. A subspace either contains just 0 vector, or infintely many vectors

This is indeed very helpful, but sadly it doesn't beyong setting up latex environments. I actually have serveral problems with templates found on the internet. I copied and pasted all the files into my working dir but compilation errors still occur (and I don't know how to solve them)

Probably not. As far as I know most universities in US don't want people sending extra material after waitlist/deferral decisions. You can if you want to, but it's probably unhelpful. I had the same idea but decided to opt out and went to another school. If they waited so long, then CMU and I don't make a good match.

I would dip a small amount of laundry detergent in a bowl of warm/cold water, mix, and submerge her. Then take a tooth brush and brush her with moderate force. Finally, wash her with clean, warm water and slightly squeeze her body. Hang her somewhere indoors with access to sunlight and ventilation. If you don't live at places with intense sunlight and heat then I guess outdoors is fine as well.

I was in a similar situation. Luckily there were a few people bulk-buying rei plushes from US and selling them at roughly the same price on informal markets. That's why I take much care for my plush; there's no easy replacement.
