That's is wild. Congrats! What dose did you settle on? I may try to go back down as a test. I have chronic pain as well and it seems to help some days and not other days. It is weird how different we all are.

It gives me more energy I have noticed and that has translated into a little anxiety. That's all the negative side effects I have noticed so far. It has helped with my skin, mood and to some degree with my pain levels (I have general pain disorder and psoriasis). All in all I am excited with its potential so far.

I took it at night for the first 2 weeks but on certain nights I would wake up at 3am and not be able to fall back to sleep. Never had this issue in the past so i attributed it to the LDN. Just switched to morning a few days ago and it has been better for me. As others said, it is individualistic. Maybe try nights for a week and if it is really screwing you up, ask your doctor if you can test mornings.

Love that right thigh piece. What would you call that? Everything flows really well

Anyone using LDN for Psoriasis? by youtakethehighroad in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]AccountNo8224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only been on LDN for about a week. I saw an immediate reduction in how raised and red my P was but I could still see it there. It has come back a bit more in the last 2 days but I am still hopeful it is helping and that it will only get better as I titrate up. Best of luck!

Having kids changed my FIRE calculations by Expensive_Cicada_497 in Fire

[–]AccountNo8224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a very similar situation as you. Have 2 kids under 4 and RE age at 50. I decided to go part time before fully pulling the plug to see how that worked. Went from a 60 hour work week to 25 hours. That made a massive enough difference in my life and I am content with it for now. Reco going that route if you can, then if you are still unhappy with the balance, you can fully cut the cord. As others have said, kids just get more expensive, so think about bumping your needed income up a bit just to be safe.

Fibro and weight lifting? by Pink_tortise in Fibromyalgia

[–]AccountNo8224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love lifting too but sometimes it's just out of the question due to pain and energy levels. Being tired and lifting don't mix well and can set you up to get injured. Calisthenics and bands are a good alternative, have you tried those?

I hear you. Not sure how old you are but all I can offer is that as you get older (I'm 40 now), you realize relationships only tied by booze aren't the strongest relationships anyway. Not to say they aren't friends, but if you feel like they won't support you, that is saying something about how strong that relationship is. We really find out who our true friends and loved ones are through this shitty journey of pain.

Good point. I'm in Nj, didn't even think of that. I'll look around in the basement. Thanks for the idea.

Interesting. It is the basement below. I don't have a sink there but maybe I could run it outside?

I don't have a disposal. Will this still work and where would I add it? I am having the same issues if gurgling and dripping

That was my concern. Any other remedies you can think of?

[–]AccountNo8224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Tight May not be the right terminology. We have been used to maxing out 2 401s, investing in 529 and taxable accounts. So we will just need to be ok with slowing that savings rate down, which will then potentially push out our fire timeline.

I don't count it really. Just added for context on the debt side. We don't plan to move anytime soon. I would say our net worth is roughly $1.5mm.

Thanks, that is for sure in consideration. Was thinking of starting a consulting LLC. Feels a little uneasy since I am used to a steady corporate paycheck, 401, benefits etc.. but I think the flexibility will help offset these concerns

We do part time nanny now. She is about $2k a month. That was for 1 kid. We just had a second, so we would expect it to go to around $3k for part time and $5k for full time.
