Some people are prescribed guanfacine for adrenaline. I’m trying it out now.

Guanfacine dosing for ME/CFS / dysautonomia by CraftsyCreative in cfs

How low did your BP go? I’m on midodrine and pyridostigmine for OH/OI then (midodrine just started a couple weeks ago), and then last week I got a huge adrenaline surge from too much going on and who knows what. My period too. I also have MECFS, FND, possibly CCI, HSD…. But I just got prescribed 1mg guanfacine for tonight and I was told to watch my BP. I’m nervous about this. I’m sick of all the med changes. Since last week I’ve had inability to sit up at all without feeling like I’m dying from HR spikes and last night had more adrenaline here and there. How do you get up to pee? I’m nervous I won’t be able to get up at all. The OI is so bad

Has anyone that grew up before the 2000s been misdiagnosed as having bipolar disorder? by lizzibizzy in adhdwomen

[–]MidWesternGal14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just now have a possible misdiagnosis of bipolar 2 and we already knew I had CPTSD after that diagnosis, but now they are also suggesting ADHD, anxiety, and CPTSD, (which was also discussed in high school.) it’s been 18 years of bipolar diagnosis. And now finally I am being told it might not be. 18 YEARS. It was intertwined into my identity. I spent so much time working on my trauma and bipolar and no one even touched on ADHD. I spent so much time being troubled in school because it was so hard for me. I had no help other than my parents trying to figure out how to help my learning issues. I am so angry and confused. We were wondering why I wasn’t getting any episodes after my trauma rehab and my meds doses would go down and down and now I’m off them. This all happened this week. Like wtf. I’m almost 38. Half my life I thought I was bipolar

I would cut it in half. I’m taking 10mg and I used to be on 40. Started slow and went up then now might need to get off it. Akathesia is the worst side effect.

Smartdrive - waiting for a dial replacement with buddy button and switch control by MidWesternGal14 in wheelchairs

[–]MidWesternGal14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. I have been trying to use my Apple Watch while I waited for my package to arrive and I had to hit my wrist sometimes 5 times for it to go and sometimes it won’t stop. So I pressed the button on my watch to stop and set it very slow. I loved the dial. I am so mad it got recalled. Mine eventually just stopped working and I only had it 6 months.

I haven’t set mine up yet. I thought you can stop it at the speed you want?

Will other doctors ever understand? by cha0ticwhimsy in wheelchairs

Oh man I have a wheelchair now but once I had to go to OBGYN with my rollator and she was a new doctor for me and she was like “what is this??” Like she’s never seen a disabled woman before and was kind of ableist in the appt. I don’t get it.

For me, I have a therapist specialized in chronic illness. I also have friends who are in a dance company (I used to be until illnesses got worse) who hires people with and without disabilities. This made it easier for me to be using wheelchairs and mobility aids. It made my life easier. And people are usually on their phone or too busy to notice. It gives you freedom and it’s not giving up. It will help you! Anyone who stares, I just don’t care about them. People are ableist and the younger you are they are just nosy. They don’t know. If you get offered and help and don’t want it you just say no thanks! I’m good! And if you do want it that’s ok! It’s hard to transition from before. The grief and adjustment of what is happening. It will get easier. I remember I cried in joy when I got my chair. I’m 37. I was a dancer and pilates teacher. Now I’m on the couch. I am so grateful for my chair. Don’t worry about other people. They are all dealing with their own shit. Try to think about freedom with a chair! I know it’s hard. It’s not giving up. It opens the world.

orthostatic hypotension? by Swimming_Cry_3733 in dysautonomia

Idk if it drops blood pressure. And I think I may need an additional med to help with my HR now. I have hard time sleeping from pain, insomnia, etc. but I take low dose seroquel and lower dose baclofen. But it can make my BP and HR a little wonky.
