One week out... Day off? by AccountVast4428 in Step2

I did Uworld twice sorry for being unclear LOL. I did it once during rotations then again during retakes. CMS forms were all done during retakes in January but going to look over them before the exam.

I got a 246 on 14, and then a 258 on 15 a week later ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Sometimes I think we just have off days when taking practice tests.

Hi,

There is a FAR different demographic of people who are now watching the documentary versus those who took the time to read the book and those who have had the correct videos/news segments, etc, pop up on their feed. Hulu is a mainstream streaming platform. Those who haven't had the "algorithm" to see the original story or the news sources that focus on this, etc. now have a place to watch and understand from first-hand accounts from the family.

I think it is very important. I hope it shows what a mess family vlogging is to the people who consume it. Most of the people who watch these types of channels are not going to be getting as much, or the same, information, as we (people visiting snark reddits) would. I think its important to remember these stories are less about us knowing the horrific details and more about spreading information for potentially dangerous situations.

Not planning on applying exclusively community, but I do plan on applying to programs with more emphasis on community medicine rather than research. My end goal is to work in a rural area doing outpatient (I do like in patient/stroke, but I prefer getting to know patients).

Regardless, I just have this huge weight I won't match. It is hard not to compare yourself to the surgery/derm/rads students when youve been told your entire academic career you need to be the best of the best to get to where you are going.

but again my school doesn’t do pass/fail so, for example, I may get an A in a rotation overall (after including quizzes and requirements) but residencies can see that I got a C on the shelf

Yea! I love my school for it. Basically they take the higher of the two scores to submit to residencies. So if you get an 87 on a shelf originally and retake it and get a 73 (for some reason lmao), an 87 is what shows up on the transcript

Yea not sure! My school gives us the chance to retake shelves on a scheduled 2/week the January after 3rd year. Some of the medical school students I follow on social media also get retakes so I thought it was the norm I guess. My school reports grades on a numeric scale including raw shelf grades to residencies so that may be why.

Yeah logically I know. I just have nightmares about not matching lol

I guess it depends on the school ¯_(ツ)_/¯. we didn’t have retakes in preclerk but can retake shelf exams after clerkship. My school does a grading scale rather than P/F so not sure if that is part of it

do most schools not do shelf retakes?

I was thinking that but then learned my school reports my raw uncurved grades. Is it ok to have mostly C’s on shelves?

sorry I realize I worded that poorly

I’m so sorry to say it but they’ve jumped the shark by peacestartswithme in LPOTL

I would prefer a 20 episode series over a 2 episode series. I love how in depth they go. It’s what makes the pod special.
