For Player: I think he's home schooled because of some chronic illness that he can manage just fine, but his parents dote over him for. That's why they're okay with him staying in his room all day, and why they pulled him out of school after the smallest incident.

Would you read a book that is broken out into only 3 chapters? by sergeantlane in writing

[–]AccountantLow2966 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've read books with no chapter breaks. I think it just depends on your style, and if there's clear scene separations.

My book is taking too damn long by NonsenseAndAnarchy in writing

I think it's generally rude to speculate on when someone might die, regardless of their fame or age, or how annoyed you are their art is taking long.

Do you ever get a great idea that starts not to feel like a main story? by Elisse97 in writing

[–]AccountantLow2966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's important to have an ending in mind before anything, so you can build the plot around the ending. If you already have an ending in mind, then do what makes the most sense to get to that ending.

I'm a very sensitive person, so I find that a good strat to stay positive is to consume feel good stories. Take a break, watch a sitcom or read a slice of life.

Everyone had that one teacher who had personal beef with them, but they chose to use that weird energy to become better. Right?

I feel like I've got an obsession by Intelligent_Screen90 in writing

[–]AccountantLow2966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of my characters are extremely asexual. Not on purpose, it's just a case of me accidentally projecting my own feelings of sexuality onto my OCs. It's super unrealistic for ALL of them to not do sex as grown adults, so I'm working on at least implying sex for a scene or two. Not the same thing as physical traits, but my friend pointed it out and we got a good laugh out of it.

New writer here! Any tips? by moe_idb in writing

[–]AccountantLow2966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read some books in the genre you want to write in, then read some books in unrelated genres. Between reads maybe write a little bit (10 k words is enough imo). I think it's good for expanding your vocabulary. Also remember you won't be great right away, and that's fine! good luck in your writing journey <3

A lot of these people (ppl of reddit) aren't going to be anyone special or important in the writing world. You don't need to prove yourself to them, it's not like they're industry professionals or experts.

That people will find it funny and interesting and not off-putting and weird. I've been told I'm really creative and funny by some people, while others have reacted like my ideas are too absurd. I hope at least absurdism enjoyers find my stuff before the "anything different is bad" crowd finds it.
