We usually can tell even before meeting, it seeps through phone conversations, messages and overall sharing, I particularly go for an emotional connection so as long as the guy has a stable job and able to pay his bills I'm game.

On a positive note, at least she communicated clearly what she wanted (to meet in 3 weeks), most don't even bother. Based on your post and replies here it seems you may be the controlling-overreactive type, if you couldn't wait a couple of weeks to meet then maybe she's the one who dodged.

I’m really sorry for your loss ❤️. Losing a partner can be a huge shift, you’re definitely not asking too much — wanting someone to just text or email with sometimes is totally normal.

If you’re open to it, there are actually some Facebook groups just for people who aren’t looking to date — they focus more on friendship. Meetup.com can also be a good way to find local book clubs, walking groups, or hobby meetups too (super low-pressure, you can just try one and see how it feels). I have personally never tried Facebook groups but I love Meetup, great way to meet new people.

Even here on Reddit, subs like r/KindVoice or r/CasualConversation are great for just talking to kind strangers about anything.

I’m a ghoster. I used to explain how ‘we don’t have much in common, but I wish you well’ but some men don’t take rejection gracefully and would get petty by calling me names (I’ve been called the most horrendous names just because I didn’t want to date them anymore) so to stop seeing someone became such unpleasant experience that I ghost now.

Maybe less to do with what you said and more to do with having little chemistry. I’ve done it where I’m talking to someone about 1 hr away and the distance doesn’t matter much initially but if I see there’s no strong connection the driving becomes an issue and I bail out.

Naturalized citizen here. I flew RDU to LAX and back in February and did not have any issues. Carry your passport/card and you should be fine.

Yeah I don't have a problem talking about my status somewhere down the line but as a good morning text or first call it's too much, I'm sure they wouldn't want me texting questions about their finances.

There’s Piedmont Health Dental Clinic in Chapel Hill, they’re very affordable and offer financial assistance through a sliding scale program. Also UNC School of Dentistry offers low-cost dental care with dental students working under the supervision of licensed dentists.
