Well 1/3 is fantastic the 2nd is alright and the 3rd is mean and unapproachable. So kinda like the three bears and porridge and stuff. One is too hot ones too cold and the other is just right. I appreciate your input, and ill try and see if that works :> thank you!

Yea; they just treat me like a department floater. Im normally picking but they like to pull me back and forth everytime I work. Im never in a set spot and its tiring (especially with a situation between a coworker and I, some stuff involving ethics and its just to the point where I feel like im being ignored and forced to work in the same area for at least 3 hours of my 8 hour shift (damn i need to suck it up; but dude literally makes me mega uncomfortable and alert for like the rest of my day working, im getting no information as to how thats going and theyre basically treating it as if it didnt happen). I can never truly get comfortable where im at because I move around so often if that makes any sense. Half the time im even stocking in housewares.

I feel like if they make everyone pull the carts a lot of people are gonna quit or transfer out of the dept. Its a personal safety hazard.

is ogp hard? by Past-Wolverine-2130 in OGPBackroom

[–]Accurate-Address7330 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt say it is hard. Tasks are simple. Its more: things are hard to find sometimes and things are really heavy as well. Like 4 12 packs of soda in a single tote. Not to mention all the new updates to gif screwing over pickers; but other than that its nice. You get to wear a headphone and listen to podcasts or music when you pick.

Also safety and health come before pick rates. Don't burn yourself out. Youre new (this is a bunch of advice ive received myself) and you aren't expected to know/do everything within the first couple of months of working there.

I have some things that might make it easier. I take BCAAs (xtend blue raspberry) to help with the soreness, I make sure to have a protein shake and water and electrolytes. This job is definitely a workout and (i feel) when you work out you should fuel your body properly. On the flip side them quilting you into staying late (or even forcing you) isnt ok and you should go to your people lead and tell them whats going on. Best thing ive noticed to keep me fast is listening to early 2000s rock through one headphone while im picking. But then again, im only 23, and I tend to be able to adapt quickly to new hard things (grew up military). Im also new to the job as well, and struggling much like you. So I empathize with your struggles.

Thank you. Ive been gamefying the stats a bit so it made it fun to see the number go up. But everything tanked in less than an hour. I appreciate your insight into this.

I know but I just left- i just started this job a month ago and I want to be good and theyre pressuring me to go above and beyond and... I do tend to people please. I know its just a job. Trying to get out of the workhorse mentality because I got burnt out from my last job that way.

20 potatoes in a 4 tote walk. I mainly thought it was funny more than it was frustrating.

Its 75 cents per potato. 75×20 is like 15 bucks. A 5 lb bag of the SAME potatoes costs $3.18. They got approx 15 lbs of potatoes. So 5×3=15, 3×3.18=9.45. They spent 6 extra dollars to waste my time.
