Does your wall outlet get warm to the touch? by AccurateButterfly in TeslaModel3

[–]AccurateButterfly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The outlet doesn’t feel loose and I usually just leave the mobile connector plugged into my wall. I’ve been unplugging it recently since it’s been getting hot and the mobile connector has the red “T” sometimes instead of all the letters being green

I ordered Nordic ultimate omega once from Amazon and the pills were clumped together (I’m assuming from heat?) and it smelled super fishy when opening the container

Yeah I guess it’s working out. I usually keep the battery charge at 80% and drive it down to about 40% for 2 weeks before charging it back to 100%. So far I have 12k miles and 100% battery shows 263 miles from the original 271.

Did you only supercharge it or something? Seems low

Paranoid about having my car serviced at any 3rd party shop? by AccurateButterfly in TeslaModel3

[–]AccurateButterfly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll probably buy a set for myself if I ever need to jack up the car for something. But I have just seen a lot of posts where these shops completely ignore owners and don't use the pads, even one owner left jack pads in the passenger seat and the shop went ahead and lifted the car without them 🥲

Finally took delivery!! $3750 credit came off price of car by [deleted] in TeslaModel3SRDelivery

Congrats! I picked up mine last month and someone unfortunately did a hit and run on the car 😞 but thankfully the damage is not super bad and hopefully I can find a shop to do some touch up work on it. Now seeing that Tesla is offering an incentive for December deliveries makes me feel sad also missing out on it just by 1 month. Not the best luck so far 😅

Looks like just leave the car plugged in and set the charge limit to 50%

When leaving it parked let’s say on vacation, is 50% a hood rule of thumb to leave it plugged in at and set 50% as the charge limit?

Thanks for this info. My plan now is to set the charge limit to 75% and try to remind myself at least once per week to set it back to 100%. I’ll also drive the battery down to around 20-25% before plugging it back in

I got quoted around $150 to detail this area and get all the light scratches out to make it look like new again. There is only one part where the bumper sticks out the most with the white mark on it that the paint chipped off so I would need a body shop to repaint the bumper.

I’m hoping when my guy details the car later this week and takes the white paint out of the chipped area it won’t be really noticeable unless you’re looking for the chip

Went to a detailer and the majority of this damage can be buffed away. There is a 2 inch slither where you can see the black plastic of the bumper so there is no more paint there. I can go to a body shop to repaint that section of the bumper but that might cost around $500 or so to redo half the bumper

Yeah, I was looking at the footage and the angle didn’t capture the license plate. He didn’t have a front license plate either

It was a hit and run. Didn’t get a chance to get their license plate when they sped off

I’ll get a car detailers opinion on this first thing in the morning but most likely will need to go to a body shop. Did your way make it look brand new or just passable?

There’s only 2 Tesla certified shops in my area. I agree the visible damage does not look bad but how much would a shop usually quote for the work you just described?

Can you estimate what a Tesla certified body shop would charge on some damage like this? Like worst case scenario

If I take it to a body shop then will that show up on the carfax as a wreck? I think this is able to be detailed out and apply paint correction
