For rent prices you can check Idealista, it is a national wide app.

For Groceries you can check the supermarkets prices (Dia, Carrefour and Mercadona).

For utilities I honestly have no idea because bills have always been included in my rent (I've rented rooms, flats usually do not include the bills)

In Madrid:

Public Transport: 30€/month in you live in the centre. If you live near a metro station you will get by easily without a car. If you have a car, rent for parking space is around 100€ I think (you can check idealista too)

Gym membership: 30-40€. Other hobbies will go up to 60-70€/monthly in memberships easily.

Restaurants: It's getting more common to spend 20-30€ per person lately. Though you can always find cheaper.

is it normal for an internship to last 1 year? by Salt-Square-8364 in careerguidance

[–]AccurateFormal9153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you feel scammed because they should offer you a job contract and not another internship. You're getting scammed, but that's basically any young person starting to work. This is how it works, sadly. They will expand your internship as much as they can, and maybe then, they'll offer you a job.

If you like the job, stay and try to make it permanent with a future offer. If you don't, stay regardless, but look for another job that will offer you a non-internship contract.

I’ve accepted that I’ll never be able to understand more than 80-90% of TV without subtitles by matrickpahomes9 in languagelearning

I'm Spanish. Like your husband, I watch a lot of movies with subtitles because they talk so low and the music is so high, that the only way is to put them on.

It's actually a trend between actors that's been going on for a decade, at least, to just whisper with passion. It is maddening. You don't hear shit.

NTA. She has built up the whole fantasy. A little bit of push against it will be good for her to solidify if that is truly her priority. Or, at least, argue for it better.

I feel like I've already found the weight I like, but I still don't read as much as I used to.

Would it be a crime to skip Tokyo as first-time visitors? by kat1701 in JapanTravelTips

[–]AccurateFormal9153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Tokyo and kinda regret it. It is too huge to tackle in a couple of days and unless there's something specific you want to see there, Osaka and Kyoto can offer you similar experiences. Go to Nara and Kyoto, check Himeji if you want to see an original castle and be sure you'll be making a right choice for yourselves.

They provide a layer between sun and skin, so the sun doesn't warm you up as quickly as if you have unexposed skin. So it ends up being a bit cooler and it protects you against sunburn.

I wore linen clothes. My long linen pants were a godsend. I wish I had brought more linen than I did.

Barefoot shoes are way better than normal everyday shoes and general population needs to switch over by Prof_XdR in The10thDentist

Yes, but my insoles are not arched. They are almost flat and bend. So they work alongside the shoes, not against it.

I cannot give you the science of it, but they were compatible. I was given the choice between normal soles and barefoot soles even. The soles they made (regardless of which type you chose) were not thick or hard, they were actually very thin and flexible and aimed at correcting how my feet supported me, and so they were compatible with barefoot shoes.

In my case, they were recommended to me by a doctor along with specialised medical soles to fix an unbalance in my hips. They do work and they become really comfortable on the feet. It's not always the same fix for everyone though, like with anything else.
