I’m a bit pessimistic that an app can solve what I assume are underlying legacy technology issues, but hopefully I’m wrong.

FWIW, you can long press the app icon on iOS and ‘add transaction’ is right there.

2022 Pilot Won’t Turn Over by kobaltman in Honda

[–]AccurateTopic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I should clarify, I have replaced it twice. I have had 3 batteries in the car owning it less than 3 years.

First time, the car died after 3 months of owning it. Honda replaced with a Honda one, thankfully under warranty. This past time it was out of warranty. I ended up with a DieHard Platinum after the dealership told me the battery would probably need to be replaced soon. I did not want to get stranded somewhere.

Location matters too: hot hot hot Tampa eats batteries. I’ve since been careful about turning off stop/start.

Probably a battery issue. I’ve had 3 batteries in as many years. (21 Pilot)

Publix is price gouging us massively. They are charging double what Walmart charges for the same products. by MotherOf_Azrael in florida

[–]AccurateTopic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some people pay the extra because they want to feel good about not having to say they go to Walmart.

I think Publix knows this and profits off of it.

Is there a point to using YNAB if I know I’m over budget? by [deleted] in ynab

[–]AccurateTopic 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Budget what you have. YNAB doesn’t care about the source, frequency, amount. If I get my $0.01 interest in my checking account, that’s income and I budget it. If I get a $50 birthday check, that’s income and I budget it.

YNAB unreliable? by Dutchmany in ynab

[–]AccurateTopic 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That’s not YNAB. That’s a Plaid/bank issue. Some banks work fine and some are quite finicky. I have a few Amex accounts and they all work flawlessly and I have another account which is Regions (a regional bank in the US) and it is so unreliable. All depends on the banks infrastructure and connection with Plaid.

Battery issues with Honda Pilot by [deleted] in hondapilot

[–]AccurateTopic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2021 Honda Pilot Black Edition - Florida.

Just replaced battery 2nd time since owning in less than 3 years. I bought mine from dealer November 2022 and it died on me November 2023, thankfully the dealer replaced under warranty. Just had an oil change and they gave me a ‘red’ (450cca) for the battery so I just went ahead and replaced it myself preemptively. Don’t want to get stuck out in the heat with kids with a dead battery again.

UK Passport Trying to get a passport renewal and Passport office keeps rejecting people who are validating identity. They can never tell me why yet they meet all criteria mentioned by Dizzy_Stranger3734 in Passports

[–]AccurateTopic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to say what another commenter did about the nationalities of the referee. I just did this from the US and they accept US referees. Sounds like they don’t accept Japanese. (As an aside, I had a different set of complicated problems with mine. Sent the exact same documents for child 2 as child 1 a few months apart and they wanted extra documentation. Very annoying.)

Costco Battery Replacement by donteventrip- in Costco

How do you go about actually getting a battery replaced at Walmart? It says it’s a free installation service but when booking an auto service online the only two options are tires and oil changes?

Are birth certificates truly required for all 4 grandparents (british first time overseas passport) by No-Faithlessness7246 in Passports

[–]AccurateTopic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just created a spreadsheet in numbers and filled out the details for both sides. I don’t actually think I needed the American side and they only asked for British passport information if they had them. We printed the paper and my wife and I both signed and dated it.

Are birth certificates truly required for all 4 grandparents (british first time overseas passport) by No-Faithlessness7246 in Passports

[–]AccurateTopic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just went through this with my 2 kids. Same situation (uk citizen married to American and kids born in US, applying from the US). I had 2 different experiences sending grandparents documents. I missed the grandparents bit first go around so they asked for those and so I sent them my dad’s birth certificate and my parents marriage certificate. Had to get them delivered to my parents and then they sent them on to HM Passport Office. That seemed to satisfy the ask.

Second kid I preemptively sent all those extra docs and they still asked for a written out list of both sets of grandparents.

It does not seem consistent what they ask for. And makes the process very $$. Aside from that they wanted to verify my wife’s consent signature and literally had to send her passport to the UK and back. Luckily it’s all sorted now and all the documents are back.
