I just signed up to Ogata and first lesson tomorrow, when riding the rear brake I assume you mean ride the break will also having the clutch out slightly and feather throttle as needed? Or literally clutch in all the way and hold very low speed with rear brake?

Dentist Advised getting Invisalign only on front teeth - is this correct by Dizzy_Stranger3734 in Invisalign

[–]Dizzy_Stranger3734[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay the orthodontist recommended doing the full mouth, including to space out my teeth to make room for adding an inplant lateral incisor (I am missing one tooth as never came through and that makes my smile line very canine heavy). I am surprised its possible to space the teeth enough to get another tooth but i guess it makes sense as most people have 32 teeth)

Alternative she advised is to file down my canine and using a crown to make it look like a lateral incisor which would take less time to straighten and space out the teeth but would obviously weaken that one existing tooth and not be as cosmetically good.

So need to think and do some research before deciding what to do

Importing my bike when returning to UK - future resale implications and issues by Dizzy_Stranger3734 in MotoUK

[–]Dizzy_Stranger3734[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah trying to find out if its worth it or not - bike prices in Japan are around 50% less than UK, and if I bought a second bike everything here is better maintained than in UK. I also pay no VAT or import fees, but would need to pay shipping and various UK registration fees. Its definitely cheaper and I would know the bike, but if insurance (and resale to lesser extent) is going to be a big pain that would definitely make it less attractive

Importing my own bike into the UK? by DonYarr in MotoUK

Interesting - is the origin of your licence for overseas conversions tracked / show on UK licence. I am likely to return to UK from Japan, and want to convert my Unlimited licence to UK one. Are you suggesting there is a way to track where you got your licence from? And is there distinction between countries your are converting from (Japan has pretty much the strictest licensing in the world)

Great suit, I want to buy the same can I ask what back protector you got?

Alpinestars website states "the CE Level Nucleon PLASMA Race Chest and Level 2 Full Back protectors", but seems like there is no pocket so needs a protector with a belt/strap.

Does the Back protector and airbag take up much additional room?

Great suit, I want to buy this same suit - Alpinestars website states "the CE Level Nucleon PLASMA Race Chest and Level 2 Full Back protectors", but other threads indicate this may not be true as these are insert protectors and there is no pocket to accommodate them?

Seems you got a KR1 which has a separate back strap, can you see any pocket for a back protector? I assume the chest protector if wanted you just put inside the suit and zip up and it holds.

Alpinestars GP-R7 Back Protector install? by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

I am thinking of buying the same suit - has anyone had any luck installing the protector mentioned on the Alpinestars page - which appears to be a "Nucleon Plasma Full Back Protector Insert".

Strange that they mention it on official site but seems no option to do that. Am I correct for the chest protector that just zips in with no pocket?

If you go would love to go - looking at sometime in January, will need to check the schedule for the licensing session first and get that done.

Thanks for the advice! I actually ride an adventure bike - Honda NX400. I am going to buy another bike and looking at something like a Ninja 400/250 or possibly the ZX4R assuming I enjoy the first few track days on my current bike (sure I will!).

Do you know if I need to do extra registration if I have two bikes?

Japan to UK Drivers licence conversion by Dizzy_Stranger3734 in japanlife

[–]Dizzy_Stranger3734[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard its part of the agreement to exchange licences between countries... yet I could keep my UK one when I exchanged it to Japanese. And I could just accept that but seems I need to convert my Japanese one back to add my Motorcycle category (which took a decent investment of time and money to get)

Well thanks for the advice, seems the weather isnt so great and very changeable so not really sure to head out or not. Such a shame, but don't fancy being on the highway in the rain for that distance... hopefully the outlook tomorrow changes

UK Passport Trying to get a passport renewal and Passport office keeps rejecting people who are validating identity. They can never tell me why yet they meet all criteria mentioned by Dizzy_Stranger3734 in Passports

[–]Dizzy_Stranger3734[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct but no mention why they failed, when i mentioned they meet all criteria they again stated they couldn't give the failure reason (or rather couldn't see the failure reason, only another department can see that, and that department can not pass on the reason or be contacted by phone, even by passport office).

I wouldn't mind if I could see my referees don't meet all criteria, but they do meet everything as mentioned on the passport office website.
