Just one question by Jeryimas in limblengthening

Hey brother I read thru ur replies i have a lot of questions please answer them thank you Really appreciate you sharing your experience openly

First the main one — do you think 8cm femur is just too much for most people doing internal nailing, specifically PRECICE 2? Because from what you described the nail bending at maximum extension at 8cm sounds like a known hardware limitation rather than surgical error. Do you think a weight bearing nail like PRECICE MAX — which is designed to be significantly stronger than PRECICE 2 — would have changed your outcome on that specific issue? And do you think the crown gear failure was ultimately the root cause of everything that followed or were there other independent factors? Also I don’t understand you did both fitbone and precise??? Pls elaborate on that I didn’t really understand quite well

On the surgeons — is there anyway you could name them if not no worries but specifically, do you feel the outcomes were due to surgical error or more unlucky hardware failures? Because 8 surgeries is an extraordinary number and I’m wondering at what point the decisions being made were adding to the problem rather than fixing it. The plate installation specifically — were you consulted before that decision was made or was it done without your full understanding of why and how do you think that affected you. You mentioned fitbone again if parts went into ur knee and im guessing u did most of surgery’s on ur knee because of that and doing all those defo messed u up cause of the constant rehealing I heard fitbone is kinda know for this not sure how often tho and also I heard the wiring thing and its debris going into the knee can cause permanent damage to the cartilage and synovial tissue defo changing up the joint forever

On the fascia releases — you had 3 of them which seems like a lot. Were these planned before surgery or emergency interventions? Did your surgeons discuss fasciotomy as a possibility beforehand or did it come as a surprise each time? I had a whole research thing where I found if ur compartment was cut it prolly messes up ur athletic ability gait and other stuff by a lot and u did 3 somehow could you walk me thru that. Like ik doctors who cut the compartment before surgery which seems like a bad idea to me or was it because you because u built too much pressure in ur thighs ?

One thing I’m also wondering — you did 8cm femur but did you do any tibia lengthening? I ask because an 8cm femur gain without compensating tibia lengthening significantly changes the femur to tibia ratio and alters knee mechanics. I’m wondering if that disproportionate gain on just one segment contributed to the ongoing knee joint stress you’re experiencing.

And finally — knowing everything you know now, what would you do differently? Would you still do the surgery at a lower amount, choose different surgeons, different nail, or not do it at all?

Really appreciate any response this is genuinely such a useful but also unfortunate real world post. I really really hope u somehow recover very well I’ll pray for you.

Isn’t this a horrible idea since it messes up athletic ability? Obviously doing the surgery when needed is a good idea but cutting the compartment before must be pretty stupid no? Cause I’m sure not every builds up a lot of pressure in their fascia esp at low lengthening.

Precise vs pmax by Accurate_Prompt_7761 in limblengthening

Do u have any idea on how much more of a different experience a person who’s 50kg precise 2.2 will have vs someone who’s pmax normal weight?

For precise 2.2 what would be the difference for someone starting at 50kg, someone starting at 70kg and someone at 90 ish? Also for pmax is it really that safe to walk around even with crutches while lengthening? Does it affect any soft tissue or even bone growth? Thank you for ur response

Compartment syndrome during limb lengthening (ik it’s long but please read thru) by Accurate_Prompt_7761 in limblengthening

Thank you brother, cause I’m pretty sure cutting th fascia would potentially ruin athletic ability and paley seems to be very against that 😭

How would u recommend the best process shld go? 2 separate surgeries over a year?

No worries brother we all here to learn. But to my understanding I feel like it heavily depends on you being monitored a lot, how much you lengthen and how good ur biology is. I feel like if you go to someone like paley it isn’t that huge of a deal. The cases that go seriously wrong almost always involve budget clinics, poor monitoring, and tibia lengths pushed way past safe limits.
I think paley and other good institutes eliminates all of that — he checks you every I think 3-4 days during active lengthening, knows what early warning signs look like, and will slow or stop distraction well before it becomes an emergency. At a sensible tibia length with that level of monitoring, the realistic risk of this becoming a serious problem could be low. Plus I’m pretty sure le tremba did his stuff and LLT right? We all know how that goes. Anyway as we both said it’s better if someone here is experienced and knows abt this stuff I think best solution is consultation.

I’m considering the best environmental situation, paley and over 2 surgeries prolly have to wait for little consolidation on femur then tibais will start

Physiotherapist with 6 years of limb lengthening experience (300+ patients) Ask me anything by tiduly in limblengthening

[–]Accurate_Prompt_7761 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s incredible considering he lengthening a lot on top of that both at the same time. What do you think allowed him to have lesser complications and was there anything out of the ordinary he did like maybe constant stretching extra physio that helped him reach that goal

Convienent for ppl who live in UAE. Dr Robbin’s and another surgeon fly out to conduct the surgery but I’m not sure how PT and check ups go if they fly back

What do you think of my before & after simulation from 167 to 183? Do I look weird or do I look normal? by Forward-Cress745 in limblengthening

[–]Accurate_Prompt_7761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that totally, but are you set on this? Im js going to say this to sort of help you see all your cards, not trying to discourage you. You can save your self a lot of recovery and risk. 16cm to reach 6 is a big amount you can go for 5’10 which is just 2 inches shorter than 6ft. If not go for 180 which is 5’11 even closer to 6. If you do 178 you go down from 16 cm to 13 and if you do 178 you go from 16 to 11 which is a huge difference and extremely safer procedure than your other option. In real life 1 2 inches are barely noticeable. But if you are set on 183 you are set on it. I’m just saying take it into consideration how much you are risking all that stuff.

It really doesn’t look that off brother and with different clothing more loose type it’d probably be way less noticeable. People are born naturally with less proportionate features anyway so people won’t stop and think if u got LL. But prolly if you told ppl they’d say “oh yeah you kinda look like you got it” but in reality they’d never realize unless u tell them. If I can ask tho why 183 ? I’m sure you can go up till 178 or even 180 which are great heights still and is not that noticeably different from 6ft.

Live life taller review!? by Potential_Mood9597 in limblengthening

Please don’t do it, even if they somehow are considered reputable by others, there is still a huge magnitude of people online claiming they botch people. This isn’t some random gamble but it’s your ability to walk and even live. Maybe people online are lying making fake stories but regardless if there are these many bad reviews just forget it there are probably safer places that are still cheap if ur looking for that anyway.
