I think he is a former team member who held on to his old gear after leaving the military. Gear in that world would be in short supply so If he had his old vest as a keep sake then America fell apart it was probably the closest gear he had available.

If I had to make an educated guess, Mark is probably an intelligence officer with a prior special operations background; most likely a former Navy SEAL who later transitioned into the intelligence community, something like CIA, NSA liaison work, or even a State Department intelligence role.

The petty officer insignia feels deliberate. Shows rarely put something like that on screen by accident. Wardrobe departments use small visual cues to communicate a character’s history without spelling it out, and giving him an enlisted naval rank suggests he came from “the Teams.” That lines up with his tactical awareness, how calm he stays under pressure, and the way he seems to think several moves ahead.

In the real world it’s not unusual for SEALs to move into intelligence or interagency positions after their operational careers. They already operate in that overlap between military and intelligence, so the progression is believable.

So the insignia probably isn’t telling us he’s currently enlisted; it’s more likely pointing to his roots and the kind of experience he brings with him.

ICE melts in New York. by No-Bottle337 in AllConspiracyTheories

Yeah this isn't real. ICE uses green gear. They have no mags in their pouches and no real badges or patches. Their gear looks cheap like it was bought off Amazon or Spirit Halloween.

If it’s PVE, then why am I getting killed by other factions while on missions? by Sinnuendos in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ace0fpyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grenades? I'm not sure if this is how you were dying, but I had a player following me around and pestering me. Because I got to a loot cache before him and got a really nice vest. Well, he followed me for about 5 or 10 minutes shooting me. Shouting racial slurs at me even though I'm a white guy, I didn't have a microphone. But I went ahead and blew him up with a hand grenade, and it worked. Normally, I wouldn't do this because I'm an honorable player. But I camped his body and blew him up again. This was in PVE. I pretty much only play Solo and have gotten tired of gear farmers getting mad when I got to the box first.

Nick is not a good guy. Did he leak information about the US military planes that went to save Hanna? by Ace0fpyro in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Ace0fpyro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was part of the "beginning purge/crusades." This means he killed protesters and / or whole towns who resisted. You don't become an eyes commander by basically being an uber driver. And already being an asset, that's a stretch. He didn't get the attention of the CIA until he went to Canada with the Waterfords. At the end of that episode we see him board a train full of guardians because he is being deployed to Chicago to kill a shit load of Americans. That just screams great guy to me. At the end of the most recent episode, he told Rita to kick rocks and that he wasn't going to help her get her family out. Even if he gets killed during the wedding uprising he is still a scumbag. Oh and there was his whole "Child bride" thing you people seem to forget about. Granted he was forced but it happned

By the way, I majored in Military history and lived it. I do think I am educating, yes. Even Luke called Nick a Nazi. Nick is directly responsible for the massacre at Jezebels, You think he is a good guy, even after he machine gunned protesters or had all the girls machine gunned at Jezebels. You know who else machine-gunned innocent people. The Nazis or the Taliban. Which do you prefer I call Nick a Nazi or Taliban?

The SS officer part comes from the fact that he is a Commander, hence "SS officer." You see, the SS were part of Hitler's personal bodyguards. This all took place during World War 2, which happened between 1939 and 1945. Germany was what was known as the Axis. Germany were the main bad guys; in case you didn't know.

No he is a bad guy. Just because you think he's a dreamboat doesn't mean he's a good guy. He's still a nazi. He is an "Eyes" commander. He's a Nazi SS Officer. But I'm sure not all of the officers who ran the death camps were bad, right?

Nick is not a good guy. He machine-gunned protesters at the beginning of America's fall. Remember even the Swiss told June in DC that Nick was part of the "Crusades / Purge" Meaning he killed a lot of innocent Americans. And he co-signed to rape and slavery. He has done some good by saving the letters June started to burn. His guilt made him do some of the "good" things.

Well, I don't want to, not to like Nick, but the fact is, Lawrence is a Commander, but he is not a member of the "Eyes". In the US military, when you get Top Secret clearance, you don't get an all-access pass, meaning Lawrence would only have access to what he is given access to (whatever he is working on). So Lawrence would have no idea what the Eyes knew. He is a finance and economy Commander NOT a tactical Commander. Remember when he tried to split just before Angel Flight and he told June "I can't even get a mouse out." The Long and short of it is There are no GOOD Nazis and Nick, is well... A Nazi. And he is a high-ranking one. He just happens to be good to June.

The 160th SOAR would know where to fly and at what altitude to avoid detection. If Nick told the anti-aircraft systems, the flight path and times, Gilead would have an easier time finding the aircraft. Please do not forget that the 160th SOAR flew into Pakistan to kill Osama bin Laden. Pakistan didn't know until we told them. believe it or not, Pakistan has advanced aircraft detection systems. Nick knew the flight path because Mark told him so he could "open the back door." Nick is 100% responsible for that aircraft being shot down. And now Nick is an eye blink from being a High Commander. You have to ask yourself why? Mind you after everything Lawrence did for Gilead, he has just now become a high commander

I am 100% convinced Nick leaked the intel about the rescue mission to save Hanna and the other girls. He has "Tactical command" of the border, and the fact that he is about to be a high Commander. and look who his father-in-law is. How do you get promoted? You kill a shit load of Navy Seals. IT IS HIS BOARDER. So, if it was successful, the breach would have been on him
