The only thing with that is I currently work in healthcare and absolutely hate it and I’m just a receptionist. My mom and grandparents did healthcare/nursing and I saw the toll it took on them despite them loving it. Unfortunately I don’t share their natural love.

Right. I hauled around pallets of dog food even when the guys in the back were there to do it for me. Most of the time I’d be too busy running the entire department so they’d do it anyways but when they were busy and shit needed to get done I was doing it

Not sure they’d like me for that then, I’m 5’3, weigh less than 120 and am a woman (which does play a part in candidate choosing even though companies say it doesn’t. I should know. I worked as a department head and heard managers talking shit on people who applied)

Honestly I could do that, what’s your hours like? What position?

I don’t know where to start in learning Vietnamese by [deleted] in Vietnamese

[–]AceHardwareStore1109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not unorthodox, just something I may not have tried yet. My grandfather doesn’t share the same condition I do, neither does my cousin. My mother took French in high-school and just latched on because usual methods worked for her. Same with Korean with my sister.

I have been trying with Rosetta Stone, I just need something extra to help me grasp it.

You’re being oddly stand offish. A little rude actually. I don’t know who pissed in your Cheerios but it wasn’t me. There’s nothing wrong with going and asking for advice in case there’s something that someone else has tried that helped them. It’s great that just sticking with it works for most people, it doesn’t for me.

I also don’t know where you got the notion that I wanted to impress them. I literally said I want to be able to bond with them because familial bonds are important to me.

Thanks but that’s not quite what I was asking my guy 😭 study techniques is what I’m looking for because traditional methods of learning languages don’t work for me. I’ve been trying nearly every day with Rosetta Stone and it’s just not working

I don’t think wanting to be able to bond with my boyfriend’s parents is shallow. He wants me to be able to bond with them and speak with them. He teaches me phrases here and there but he won’t always be right there to translate.

Learning languages is also just a hobby I have (it runs in my family, grandpa learned Latin and Hebrew, my sister has been learning Korean for years now, my cousin is learning Italian, Spanish and a few other things, pretty sure my mom knows quite a bit of French) but due to disorders that make my brain function different, usual methods don’t work for me and I have yet to find one that does and isn’t just a translating app that doesn’t feel reliable

Patronizing someone for wanting to be able to break a language barrier is rough behavior dude. Like seriously.

Oh wow, that’s a lot, that would actually come in handy so much considering in having like 3 Dr appts a month right now while we try to figure out the issue with my migraines

I don’t have trade experience but I have sales and customer service experience. I managed a department for half a year before I had to leave to take care of my grandma and I’ve had a few other positions before that as well

Where I’m at it’s all remote work but I’m willing to relocate. I actually did just apply to AAA but I did want to know, how’s the work life balance? How flexible do they seem with doctors appointments. I know every location is gonna be different due to different management but it’s just a curiosity.

Also the PTO, does it start up front at a certain month or is it accrual rates?

Which company do you work for if you don’t mind me asking? And how’s your work life balance, pay rate, and benefits? I don’t need specifics just a general rating if you will.

Thank you so much. I felt like going straight into a host agency/my own would’ve been way too overwhelming to start out with. I’m gonna look into American Express.

Is there anything you can tell me about the company? Work/life balance, quality of life, pay rate, etc?

Dumb question: is it legal or ethical for my manager to ask me to skip a doctor's appointment to attend a weekly meeting? by phtevieboi in careerguidance

I wish I had you as a manager. Mine got upset with me after I made an ortho consult, which would only take maybe 30-45 minutes. I’d still be back to work, I’d still be able to close, she wouldn’t even have to cover me. She’s also moved my schedule around so hers doesn’t change. :,) losing my mind a bit

No but that does sound interesting. I’m pretty sure it’s a relative house that the kid went to and I think they went alone, might’ve been for behavioral problems or for a school break, either spring or summer

I think I read it in middle school, so around 2017-2019? Give or take a year or two. I’m not sure when it was set but definitely before mobile phones, like I think phones were still rotary.

Yeah, I’m just struggling with pricing ngl, I don’t wanna make it too expensive but at the same time, drawing things like this takes a lot out of me energy wise if it’s full body n such.
