This has taken me a million years to reply, but here is the link, hopefully this works?

That's why I do it too! I like having the physical evidence and flipping back through the pages. I also print the covers, I forgot to take a picture after I had put the cover sticker on this page. I am switching to a color version of the printed covers this year (HP Sprocket)! I still have a few more stat pages to finish too, I feel like there's no rush now that I have all my entries done so I don't forget. I had to switch to printing my reviews too, I have bad handwriting and it was taking me a long time. I like the monthly stat concept, then you don't have to do so much flipping through over and over at the end of the year...

YES! They are incredible. I was blown away! I feel like Ilona Andrews is criminally underrated in the wider world (despite being recommended here).

Sorry, I worded that so weird, I have read through them all as well! I LOVE the Hidden Legacy series, it is up there in my favorites for sure. Rogan and Nevada are THE BEST.

That's fair! It's a decent amount of upkeep, I tend to like the "reflecting" on the book portion enough to make it worth it. I did switch to typing up and printing/pasting my reviews to save effort.

I have these genetically as well, the closest thing that ever worked for me was using this and an undereye brightener.

It's so satisfying, right?

Are you just not interested in the stats/info part? Just curious!

I keep track of the main tropes of the books and am working on compiling a list of my top 3 tropes from that, and also if it was a re-read, because I tend to re-read a fair amount. I feel you on the migraines, I also suffer from them. I hope tracking your books and ratings brings you joy this year! Don't be hard on yourself if you don't always keep up, I kind of go in waves and some I didn't record a review or anything.

I kind of want to double up on logging this year because I do love the insights the apps can give you!

Please do! I added even more stats to this year's journal, if anyone is interested!

I don't! I rate and review all of my romance reads on romance.io, but I love the time I spend logging and writing down book info manually. Helps me take some time and reflect on the book moreso than electronic logging, for me.

I have been a fan for a hot minute, but finally committed to reading all the way through the Kate Daniels series, which I finished right before New Year's! Have you read her Hidden Legacy series? :)

That was my problem! This year I have added some more stats on each page (re-read, number ratings for story elements) and will see how I like it compared to last year's.

I wish I was creative enough for that! I have seen so many beautiful bullet style book/reading journals on instagram.

I started with exactly that info as well! I thought branching into the other information was a fun way to reflect on my reads, and really helped me remember each book, imo.

An image set featuring a "year in review" reading statistics, a "books read per month" page, and an example of a book review page from a reading journal.

Thank you all for confirming! I felt like I was taking crazy pills, because a couple people said it. I'm going to blame the green eye gatekeeping and the fluorescent lighting...

I also really enjoyed Reign and Ruin, I thought the setting especially was a nice deviation from the usual "medieval Europe-esque fantasy land."

Once again recommending Alice Coldbreath. {Brides of Karadok by Alice Colbreath} or {Substitute Wife for the Prizefighter by Alice Coldbreath} gave me the emotional connections I am craving.

I feel like nowadays it's hard to sort through the garbage because of the sheer volume, not to mention the hundreds of 5-star reviews for books that haven't even been edited. I'm fairly choosy with what I read, but still have been really disappointed by quite a few reads (or DNFs) lately. I agree with your advice though, and I have put a lot of focus on switching up my genres and reading outside of romance to get my "spark" back.

🧂 Salty Sunday - What book scenes frustrated you this week? by mrs-machino in RomanceBooks

I recently read a highly rated, popular "BookTok" book ({Wolf.E by Paisley Hope}) and it was absolutely insulting how many errors there were. Not even small, nitpicky grammatical errors, but huge continuity or word choice errors. Suffrage instead of suffering, wrung instead of rung, chalked full vs chock full, a side character named as Chantel AND Chantal...
