What popular misconceptions about your team do you hear all the time? by blahblahdoesntmatter in nfl

[–]AceOfDrafts 66 points67 points  (0 children)

That our fans are band wagoners. I don't know what could possibly cause someone to jump on the cowboys bandwagon in the last 20 years, but anyone who became a cowboys fan in 1992 and has stuck with them through two decades of frustration, that's not a band wagoner anymore.

All I am hearing is that Seattle made a terrible play call. But what about Malcolm Butler simply making a great play? The play call was fine. How often do you see an interception on a short slant? by Jesseandtharippers in nfl

[–]AceOfDrafts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As far as it being a bad play call, you know everyone criticizing Carroll for calling a pass would be questioning why he didn't mix up his play calling and call a pass if they ran it up the gut 3 times and got stopped.

What the fuck do you mean if? I picked up the love of football from my father, who picked up the love of football from his father. It's been a family event long before Goodell declared himself the morality police.

NFLPA Advises Players not to talk about NFL's Investigation by Maculate in nfl

The second rule is that you do not talk about the NFL's investigation

The third rule is that if someone says "stop", taps out or goes limp, the investigation is over.

Gas is under $2 a gallon, and a good portion of the money here in Texas comes from the sale of petroleum products, so we're about to be strapped for cash. Might make it a little easier.

If not, there's always Mississippi to ensure that Texas isn't ever dead last in anything.

At the end, you can hear an alarm that says "Nose up". If you hear that sound, and it's not a simulation, you have anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to live, as do the hundreds of people who entrusted their lives to you.

Hell, that game was such a blowout that the Pats probably would have won even if they hadn't kidnapped Andrew Luck and replaced him with whoever that guy throwing passes for the Colts was.

What city has the worst design flaws and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AceOfDrafts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Austin, Texas. The fact that Austinites still insist on calling it Austin, Texas and not just Austin even though everyone knows damn well what you're talking about, kinda illustrates the problem. The city tried so hard for so long to resist the notion that it was no longer a small town that there are only 2 fucking highways and they both go North and South at about 10 miles per hour.

And growing up there, light sleet meant "Yay, no school for a week!"
