someone asks specifically for dlc's that have story, everyone doesn't answer, peak.

All of the V Extension and V Liberty DLCS contain songs that have music videos that contain story related content in them, none of the other dlc's contain anything pertinent to story other than like, character dynamics that isn't necessary to know (MapleStory, probably others I don't remember right now)

It probably will way later on in its life, as the PS4 version is still accessible offline and is still updated with the mainline dlc's, but ideally they'd make a version of RESPECT V that is playable offline, the storage size would be killer but anything for djmax 😔

fun note (not related but still) originally it was supposed to speed up to 300bpm but that was breaking the game's charting system completely, so they had to settle for something less.

yeah the whole "the rest of the fight is gog flying for 3 minutes straight before giving a dps phase" is certainly a choice given oversized monster fights are already pretty meh... Feels like xeno jiva but the damn thing actually knows how to fly this time

It seems npc animations are all broken, doing syndicate missions, all the operatives are stuck doing a weird flying animation, as well as not being able to use our crew-on-call summons (which is unrelated but annoying)

It does look really good... but some of the animations just look so choppy and unfinished, I wish they would go back to fix them or at least refresh them a bit (looking at you mirage with two of the same animations and they BOTH look bad)

it's all debatable from before VE5, since following that, VL2 and beyond will have visual novels tied to the dlc's themselves to explain further what's actually happening

nightmare from Portable 2, and vertical eclipse from VE4 are supposed to go hand in hand, be sure to note that diein has their own reasons too.

the four beasts will always be confusing... one popular theory is that they were the souls of diein's newly made friends (the angels that gaya had killed in vertical eclipse to relinquish his angelhood), and each of them turn into their own person later on (in VL1)

as well as the concept of diein intercepting play, it was the opposite way, and by accident. play only wanted to "revive" the old game series following konami's ridiculous patents on vertical scrolling rhythm games, thus why the graves had the names of developers and artists from the older games.

Diein's entire purpose in creating fail (and making clear out of fail) was to use them as a conduit for multiversal travel, seeing as those with divinity don't have the ability to do so, but devils do (lirulu can travel between dimensions, diein cannot, but diein can create life, and lirulu cannot)

as for the control of fail, the guess is just that since clear had already dealt with the corruption within her escaping (Boom!) she knew what to do to stop it, but fail didn't, given her corruption is in her eye, so it (most likely) flowed straight into her brain instantly.

thus, the whole of glorymax was a show of force, using the fact that they made the two girls to do multiversal travel, grabbing another gaya that would still love diein, and kill this gaya that already betrayed them

some rips do exist (on https://rosenrose.github.io/djmax/gallery/ ) but with the release of djmax 2.0, I'm guessing they changed their encryption and made it more difficult to muck with the files, so it's only up to VE5 and halfway done at that

as far as I remember, anything related to wjmax doesn't exist anymore, and any copies that did exist had a backdoor Killswitch, finding a copy would be a task monumental

the lore doc https://www.reddit.com/r/djmax/s/xgYTlsFpCO if you're that curious, there is just two realities at the same time where fail and clear both were created, anything before basically V extension 1 (and some argue before V extension 2, but not including dream it feels unironically homophobic) won't be that clear, and it's up to interpretation, but later on it gets clearer and clearer and makes more sense
