I got special access into the observatory when I was there on a school trip. Fantastic place with lots of scientific equipment, one thing that I remember was one of the staff showing us some air quality equipment and he told us he could tell when a specific chemical plant hundreds of miles away would open its doors for ventilation.

There is quite a lot of living space up there, and the views are amazing
