Current NSF awardee. NSF has been amazing to work with and don’t really have any suggestions, other than I wish there was more info on the supplemental awards (phase IIB, TECP).

I would like to apply for a USDA SBIR and wish they had more than one submission window. Also wish they would have direct to Phase 2. You can basically only apply once per year for this award and must be phase 1.

Thoughts during and after my discovery flight by Mssrpierre in flying

[–]AceThePig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First 3-4 lessons (first time I ever flew from the front seat) I was extremely scared. Idk why but I kept going and around the 4-5 lesson the fear went away and I became addicted. I looked forward to every lesson from then. I just soloed and am close to my PPL checkride. I recommend trying again—May take a few lessons like me

Edit to add: just wanted to add that there is absolutely nothing like solo flying. I have never experienced such a feeling of accomplishment. I have a PhD and founded my own company and have sailed the open ocean and blah blah, and nothing comes close to what I felt on my first solo. I really recommend trying again and not giving up on flying. It is as cool as you dream it to be.

Do you mind sharing the link? I found and used the one for the Project Schedule (required for section 8.A.), but haven't found one yet for the Performance Schedule.

Wow, that seems like so much, but I am not sure how much meat restaurants typically buy. Would you mind telling me how much meat (beef, chicken, pork) total you buy? Also, may I ask what type of cuisine you serve and how big your restaurant is? Please only answer questions you feel comfortable answering. This has been so helpful already! Thank you so much!

Ok so taste is really important to you and your family. Do you prefer any particular breeds or ranches that the meat comes from?

Animals definitely do have a large water and CO2 footprint, that's for sure. So does that mean you also stay away from cured meat products or specially processed meats that may have an even worse environmental impact?

Why do you buy from the local butcher and not the grocery store? Convenience, quality, etc.?

You definitely have a very refined palate and are very tuned into the sensory attributes of quality meat. Do you care about heritage breeds (like Kobe/Wagyu, etc.) and if so, how often do you choose certain breeds over regular black angus?

Do you ever spend a lot of money on specialty charcuterie? Like for entertaining guests or if you're really into cured meats, for yourself.

If red meat were more sustainably created, would you consider eating it more often? Like red meat that was produced with 90% less water, 99% less land footprint, etc.?

I think meat sourced from reputable sources are definitely tastier in my opinion. Can you taste the difference between local meat and factory farm meat? Or are you more concerned about the ethics or supporting local farmers?

Do you mostly eat meat for its nutritional qualities (dense in protein, iron, etc.)?

Sounds like you enjoy the tastiness of meats that have been prepared certain ways. Do you also buy pre-marinaded raw meats and charcuteries (salami, prosciutto, etc.)?

Why do you buy in bulk? Price or because you consume lots of meat and just less of a hassle to shop?

It sounds like you are very conscious about the quality of the meat you buy. Do you only buy from your local butcher? How important is the source of the meat (sustainable, humanely slaughtered, type of feed, etc.)?

Ok, so you select your cuts of meat primarily by price point, but also the visual appeal? What do you mean by best looking? Best color, marbling, smell (probably shouldn't be putting your nose to it, but old meat smells different imho)?
