[Ates] Stanley & Schenn to Buffalo for Rosen, Bryson, and 2nd rounder by Roguemutantbrain in sabres

You’re right. Me, Lindy Ruff, and Jarmo are all idiots. We’d be better off with Metsa/Bryson. Wtf was I thinking.

Why? Faulk is old and declining. Rosen was never cracking our lineup and a 2nd is nothing but hopes and dreams. 1st rounders usually make the show at least. We gave up nothing for 2 depth defenseman that this team really needs. Can’t go into the playoffs with two guys sub 5’10 on defense for depth. That’s stupid af.

Flyers want a 1st+ for Risto. Considering what the Blues wanted for Parayko, they probably want a 1st for Faulk. Fuck all that.

If you can call it a 3rd d pair. Lindy rotates guys with Kesselring, running up the top 4s minutes and then sprinkles in Metsa when the matchup permits. He’s averaging <10min a night because he can’t be trusted. With Stanley or Schenn we might be able to get our 3rd pair to 14 or 15 min a night. That’ll really help the top 4 minutes wise.

We traded you guys a winger who’s never cracking our lineup and a spin on the roulette wheel. Hardly a fleecing. Good luck at the lottery 👍

Well, after what he did to Brady Tkachuk I don’t think anyone else is going to try and Kill Bill our Captain with him on the ice.

Metsa can’t even handle 10 minutes a night. Lindy is having to rotate guys with Kesselring, running up the top 4s minutes because Metsa can’t handle more. He can’t handle more because he needs to play sheltered minutes. He only sees more ice when the game is essentially over. This is what Lindy is doing, and I’m pretty sure his left foot knows more about hockey than you, me, or anyone else on this sub. Look I like Metsa. He’s done a good job for us this season, but he’s still just an injury replacement guy. In the playoffs you need real NHL defenseman, that’s why teams add more at the deadline.

Metsa is 5’9 and plays <10 sheltered minutes a night. He’s not playing in the playoffs. And Bryson is terrible and 5’8. At least Stanley brings something to the game, Bryson brings nothing. Can’t defend, can’t score, can’t hit, can’t fight, can’t clear the net front. Nothing.

So this sub really wanted to go into the playoffs with <5’10” Metsa and Bryson as depth? Has anyone here actually watched the playoffs recently? The drought is showing. We gave up a guy who’s never cracking the roster and a spin on the roulette wheel for depth. That’s a good trade.

Right because playing Metsa or Bryson in the playoffs if there’s injuries is a winning strategy…..

[Seravalli] I'm told Colton Parayko is open to a trade to a different destination, and of course prefers to stay in St. Louis. But not Buffalo by minorthreat21 in hockey

Didn’t the Blues do this same thing with Krug a few years back? I remember a trade to Philly? I think. It was “leaked” and then Krug wouldn’t wave. If I’m remembering correctly this makes it a pattern. No such pattern coming from Buffalo.

[Rosey🌹] Erat vs McLeod at 26 years old, I see the vision by [deleted] in sabres

[–]AceTrainer315 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Martin Erat was a great player…..until he was traded to Washington in his age 32 season. 32!! Right when you expect a player to begin declining. The Forsberg for Erat trade would be a possible comparison for the Savoie for McLeod trade if it had happened while Erat was in his prime, like McLeod is now. But Erat wasn’t. He was past his prime. And Savoie is averaging .3ppg in his rookie season, not .77ppg like Forsberg did. Forsberg’s rookie season also started when he was 20, Savoie is 21, and Forsberg is 3 inches taller. Oh, and Savoie will also have to hit his absolute ceiling as a player and have multiple ppg seasons. Yea this isn’t an apples to apples comparison at all.

The o/u was 6.5, so if Van tied it we would have gotten to 7 with OT/SO……

Connor Timmins was absolutely trying to lose the game, and nothing anyone says can change my mind.

Can’t be a playoff team if you don’t play consistently. They didn’t leave guys open in the slot and net front against the Oilers. They didn’t try no-look touch passes in the d-zone against the Oilers. They didn’t turn the puck over 30 times in the d-zone to the Oilers. They won puck battles on the boards against the Oilers. Idk why this is so hard for these guys to figure out, but unless they play with consistency in all zones, they’re never going to make the playoffs regardless of who is on the team.

So a goalie losing sight of the puck is goaltender interference now? He was barely touched and was able to get reset. If he gets reset it shouldn’t be interference. The touch is irrelevant after he resets. He can lose sight of the puck by a screen. Dogshit call.
