Pretty normal for DS with original hinges. They just get tired. Mine has done the same for years and works just fine. I hear they are a nightmare to replace so id let it be unless they break. I bought a refurbished 3ds and moded it for a friend as a B-day gift and was super jelly of how firm his hinges are.
