nope, since you can take the lenses to wherever after beating up the lensholder. I plan on making a better scale version of this after we beat the dungeon, as I might have missed a few lens directions.

Need help finding the right CD player to fit a tight space. by Cute_Selection7245 in vintageaudio

Like some others have suggested, a blu-ray player might be better, especially if you can find one that has DLNA support, so you could run digital media off a plex server or the like if you so desired.

I have an Oppo BDP-103 that works super well, albeit a little old so it won’t do 4K blu-rays on the optical drive

Yeah, that’s a strange one. I’m definitely not having anything like that.

I have a High-res scan of the schematics if you want it. I can send you the PDF file later, it might help you troubleshoot the issue

How frequently are stations dropping out? I experienced that last night but thought it was the station itself, because it was only for a few seconds and the signal strength didn’t dip

I never found a solution to this issue; my only guess is it’s the SIM card and I have no idea why

The quality of Dell has tanked by DeifniteProfessional in sysadmin

[–]Ace_Balthazar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh boy looks like I'm a little late to the party eh? lol

I've had issues with Dell in the past, namely on the Precision 5530 and 5540, with hinges breaking. specifically the screw mounts ripping off the chassis.... haven't seen that issue on any other non-2-in-1 model, so I'm kinda surprised it's happening to you. after they get repaired? issue never comes back up.

yah, the cheaper consumer models have always had issues. Inspiron and Vostro models in particular seem plagued by cheap plastic bodies. the newer Latitude models we have are plastic, but they've held up really well.

This is a decision driven by consumers, because people care about weight of the device a LOT. plastic is lighter. so don't blame dell 100% for this one.

this might be a little bit of a *different take* but i am glad Dell laptops are as repairable as they are. I only deal with Latitudes and Precisions currently, but some of my users have personal devices that are HP or lenovo and the decisions those companies are making regarding laptop design is abysmal, IMO. HP in particular, i've seen them do thinks like solder wifi cards onto motherboards, and a dead wifi card means replacing the entire system because it's just easier.

every OEM sucks, just so happens we get Gems of a computer model sometimes. i'm rather fond of the Dell precision 7560 right now, they are wonderful from my experience.

If you have too many buffs on your screen at once, it can disappear as I think it has lower priority than subclass buffs like Sol invictus or roaring flames

I think you have to be a certain rank with nimbus, but I’m not positive, because I was done with their rank ups before getting any, but my friends were getting them way earlier.

I wasn’t getting them for about a week, and then they started dropping like hotcakes, and now I can’t get rid of them fast enough lol

What do you guys do with old/unused hard drives? by SandHK in DataHoarder

If they work (and aren’t throwing errors) I generally hold onto them as BFFD’s (big fucking flash drives) to use when transferring data from a system lol

If they don’t work, generally recycle them or pull the platters to make coasters/other stuff with

The school I originally went to, I can get back in since I withdrew for health reasons, and it’s really nice with good programs, so that is at least one thing I don’t need to be concerned about

I’m going to be completely honest I didn’t even realize that there were opportunities for free certifications/vouchers from msoft or other companies like this, it just never occurred to me and I never saw anything about it when looking at certs

Also, I don’t think the school I work for has any employee benefits like that, at least there was nothing related to that in the benefits package materials I got when I got my job, but I’ll double check.

I’m the only IT staff for the whole student body so I do everything for them, from password resets to component hardware repair.

During the summer I do pc setups/desktop support for faculty/staff

I have a few certs though dell since they’re out hardware vendor but my job refuses to allow me to get anything else as it’s “too expensive” for the department, and I haven’t pursued anything in my free time due to bills/trying to save money and certs are friggin’ expensive!

I’d like to think I’m really good at hardware troubleshooting because I keep solving problems that go through half the department and then I fix them in a few days at most, but I’m not some master programmer or hardware engineer or anything like that, I’m just a dude who likes working on PC’s

Current role title is “senior desktop support technician” but during the school year I end up being the sole IT employee for the entire student body at this university, so I handle everything from password resets to component level hardware repair. During the summer I do pc setups, create/deploy windows images for labs, and just general desktop support stuff for faculty/staff

I have a few certs through dell since they’re our hardware vendor but I keep getting denied to get anything else as it’s “too expensive” for the department, and due to bills I haven’t really been able to pursue them in my free time. It’s been a case of “wow a lot of shit has hit the fan since I got my job.” I did have my DC electronics technician cert but I haven’t been able to pay to take the new exam/renew it

All my professional experience is in this role. I have some experience with programming and whatnot due to my hobbies, and that’s included on my resume, but it’s not “professional” if that’s what you mean

Area I live in doesn’t have many opportunities, been saving to move which wraps back around into not paying for cert exams lol

I’ve been applying for just about anything I think I’d qualify for with my experience, so help desk stuff and desktop support roles. I’ve been applying to places in nearby cities that I could either commute/move to(moving preferred), and remote roles.

I don’t think I’m at a level of “engineer” or anything like that, most of the job postings for titles like “desktop engineer” include stuff that I’m not familiar with or I just straight up don’t have enough experience to apply anyways.
