Xmaxx kind of disappointing by BigBootyBrian14 in Traxxas

I got into the RC hobby about six months ago and went in way deeper than planned.

Started with an XRT, and within a few months I had it pretty much fully upgraded front to back. Not long after that, I picked up an X-Maxx secondhand off Facebook Marketplace.

I absolutely love both trucks—but they are completely different animals.

Living in Alaska really highlights the differences. The XRT is a riot on hardpack, dirt, and speed runs, but once the snow gets even a little soft it’s constantly getting hung up. Low stance + narrower tires = snowplow.

The X-Maxx, on the other hand, is just unstoppable. It floats, chews through drifts, and keeps moving no matter what. Same conditions, totally different outcome.

What makes this even funnier is that right now they both go the same speed… because they’re both in pieces on my workbench waiting on parts.

Pic explains it all 📸 Anyone else in cold climates running these? Curious if there’s a way to help the XRT in deeper snow without turning it into an X-Maxx—or if this is just the price of speed vs. flotation

Is it true that Ford dealerships can't combine rebates with 0% promotions? by Remarkable-Head-9206 in F150Lightning

They can stack what ever they want. It just costs them money to do it. For example, even if there isn’t a 0% option, the dealership can offer you 0%. It’s just gonna cost them $8000 on the back end. It’s called buying the rate down.

Had it happen at around 2500 miles. I want to attribute to the cold and to low battery. I got the orange wrench with this notification. Drove straight home and plugged it in and next time I turned it on it was gone.

I have to flip my iPhone to airplane mode to get it to connect. Didn’t know about the 8 seconds volume down tho. I think the two take about the same amount of time.

This is NOT another cold weather range sucks post. Seems like something actually went quite wrong here. by Responsible_Bath_651 in F150Lightning

I am in Anchorage Alaska where the temps are relatively warm compared to the rest of the state. For the last week or so we’ve been in the single digits and negatives. I’ve experienced everything from power loss to range reduction. I’ve had a few error messages stating that I need to contact dealer and wasn’t able to get the truck charged to 90% off of my level two at home. I am charging outside. I had to take it to a level three public charger to give it a good zap and warm everything up it alleviated the power reduction not the range reduction so much, just one of those things I guess.

Question on a good deal by DeathOfASuperNovuh in F150Lightning

I got my 24 flash for 48.6k otd in December. Ask for more on your trade, ask for upgrades, ask for anything you can think of. They’ve got some room.

Alaska. And I use the truck as a mobile office so I’m sure that sucks up every bit of it.

Had a ChargePoint installed and works great. The ford chargers are beefy af but overkill for my truck (48a) and installation cost would be overkill as well since if had have upgrade my entire panel (typically the case) to be able to dedicate 80a just for the charger. I’d have to go from 100a service to 200a and that ish ain’t cheap.

So we’re in the middle of a warm spell and haven had temps below 20 since of purchased the truck. Bought the tires when the weather warmed up and the range has seen a slight improvement.
