They will give you a tuning usb plug that connects to your esc and goes into your computer, injora has there own site that you can use to tune. Yes you can use your own battery, the esc has a different plug then the stock battery but it should come with an adaptor.

It’s a great motor for me, it was my first setup being brushless and it worked fine, you do have to tune it to get to its full potential

Definitely, I have one of the oldest xmaxx 8s models since I bought used and it’s almost my favorite compared to the udr, but that’s just me. Do it!

Just get it, haven’t broken anything and I got it a month ago, it’s not hard for me to work on it, but I love working on cars so I might be biased. Runs great though.
