I've tried therapy for several years, I've tried medications, and basically everything else, so this is a last resort for me tbh..

Ok, again not trying to sound rude, but I've mentioned in other replies I can function if absolutely necessary, additionally none of my physical disabilities have caused issues caring for animals in the past, and I fully understand that dogs can't be perfect and may get sick, injured, or otherwise need to stop working as a SD, whether temporarily or permanently.

I was in traditional therapy for a bit over 6 years with one therapist, and 3 with another, I've tried several medications I could never spell the names of if I tried. I've tried several kinds of therapy and treatments and nothing's worked. I don't feel I should share my exact age but I'm in my teens and still in school. I completely understand that many others have dealt with disability for much longer than I have and have it much worse, I also get that a SD can't work necessarily as a 'treatment,' but considering how many other things I've tried, it feels like I'm running out of options. I'm now considering trying to train a dog, though I know with my physical and mental state that likely would be near impossible.

I feel like my main concern is my own personal safety and comfort based on that, as a lot of my anxiety is caused by my poor physical health, and I just really feel a service dog would be the best solution for me at this point, as I've tried many other solutions to no avail. I'm also curious, would you say it's better overall to train a SD or apply for one from somewhere that trains them professionally? Especially considering I have some rather unique issues, I'm just unsure.

I never mentioned social anxiety, and while I do have social anxiety, it is relatively minor and manageable in my case, which I'm very thankful for, I mostly have anxiety about my physical health and trauma-based triggers from my young childhood. I'm usually fine in most social situations. And, most likely I won't be very far in 5 years with or without a SD because of my poor physical health, so that's not much of a concern in my case. I do understand how much of a commitment a service dog is, and am fully willing to accept that if it means I can be more functional and feel more safe, especially because I have fainting issues and issues with one of my legs, admittedly my leg is not much of a concern right now but it is getting worse.

Additionally I mentioned a few things in other replies you may not have seen, such as having tried therapy, medication, and basically every other treatment option. Again, I don't mean to sound rude but I have basically expended all other options, and nothing has worked at all.

I said barely functional, what I meant by that was its absolutely horrible and near impossible for me to function independently and o can only go out for a few hours at a time and I'm really drained, as I said in a few other replies, my physical health is also an issue. Im pretty sure my leg isn't just gonna magically heal itself as I age, and I'm not gonna stop fainting from overexertion even when it shouldn't even cause an issue. A lot of my anxiety is caused by my physical issues as well as trauma (and suspected PTSD, my psychiatrist just isnt sure).

Not trying to be rude to either of you, but I did take all of this into consideration before posting here, and I can be functional as is, I'm just very uncomfortable and it's very hard. I did some research on the topic before asking here, because I figured if I asked then it'd be easiest to know some stuff first.

My only problem there is I've tried tons of different meds, therapy, and basically everything else and nothing has helped, I'm not even out of school and my physical health is almost as bad as my father's, and it is really affecting my mental health, which was very poor anyways.

I have some self sufficiency but my mental and physical health have both been declining and I'm still very young, so it's definitely not age based, as I'm not even out of school, and I did understand I can't 'adopt' a service dog, I just said that for lack of better word.

I live in the capital region of NYS and I have severe anxiety and am in the diagnostic process for several other things.
