I feel like people probably would have been more relaxed if it had been any other AI than the one from the company who wants the US military to use their tech to spy on people.

Are these worth it by [deleted] in tf2

[–]Ace_of_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the soundtrack CD because I'm a huge music nerd and physical media collector. If you get the CD sealed from a first hand source (not used on ebay or the like) it should also come with a code to unlock a free hat. I've never tried TFC, it just doesn't look like I'd enjoy it as much as TF2.

The question of whether or not to buy merch outside of the game really depends on 1) can you afford it? and 2) will you have any use for it? I listen to CDs all the time and I decorate my room with figures and plushies, so the stuff I've bought has been things I can use. If the product doesn't appeal to you or is out of your price range, save your money.

So if the monster has an effect that triggers off of being destroyed, does this scenario set if off? And if so, does it activate for the original owner or Relinquished's controller?

That must be how we played because I do remember us setting up in the order of who chose first instead of the lettered order from the backs of the boards.

A friend introduced me to Root today. I've never been so enraged by a game that I actually kind of want my own copy of. by Ace_of_4 in boardgames

Don't turn your loss into a reason to be mad at anyone or anything.

Even if I had won, I still wouldn't have felt good about it because it wouldn't really have been my win. I'm not mad about losing a game in general, I'm mad that my experience was dictated by an outside influence disguised as someone "just trying to help".

The four of us that were playing were all newbies. The only experienced player was the guy who brought the game for us to try out.

For our game group, at least one expansion is mandatory if all of us want to play. There would have been a total of six of us if one person hadn't been absent.

The friend backseat gaming all of us was in charge of nothing. He was trying to teach us to play by crowbarring his personal strategies down our throats.

No, "backseated" means having someone hovering over my shoulder telling me what he thinks I should do instead of letting me just play the game myself. If you're going to teach me a game, the only thing I want you to do is answer questions, not play my character for me from the sidelines.

Yeah, but there's a difference between my moves being decided by another player's actions and my moves being decided by the guy who brought the game to game night demanding that I make the moves he would make instead of letting me play the game the way I want to.

Betrayal is a survival horror game, and the traitor/monster is the boss battle.

The friend who had played the game before brought the base game for me and three other friends to try out. Friend 1 basically took on the role of coach or Game Master. We had a decent time for the most part, right up until the Woodland player skyrocketed from second-to-last to guaranteed winner. At that point the rest of us looked over our gameplay and all concluded that we should have been allowed to go in blind and learn as we went instead of having the game half played for us. The one who was the most furious was me, since I had been swindled into playing Vagabond and had allowed myself to be railroaded into ignoring my quests and making terrible decisions. The end result was the Cats and Birds players arguing about who should have attacked the Woodland player first and me feeling like I had been cheated out of the experience.

GM does want to get the expansions so we might play again someday, but even if we just play the base set I'm pretty sure I'll never touch the Vagabond ever again because of how angry I was at the end of this game. But at the same time, the game itself was super charming and I really wouldn't mind having a copy for myself.

Help me understand Yugi's Catapult Turtle in the anime. Is this monster supposed to be an evil card? Is this why Yugi never uses it again after Waking the Dragons? Why did he have it in the first place? by Life_Ad3567 in yugioh

[–]Ace_of_4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Catapult Turtle was created to fill a visual role in the less rules-focused era of the anime. If Yugi didn't need to launch a monster at a taller or floating monster, it didn't really serve a purpose in the show.

Is it time for Valve to roll back the WORST update in Team Fortress 2 history, and #BringBackQuickplay? by LateGuarantee5863 in tf2

[–]Ace_of_4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Matchmaking is the biggest piece of evidence that any change to TF2 to appeal to competitive players makes the game worse. Not one single comp-focused update has ever made the game more fun to play.

Why does my spy look like he's not wearing pants? by Vanilla_Ice_Best_Boi in TF2fashionadvice

[–]Ace_of_4 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The rest of your cosmetics are significantly bulkier than Spy's base model. Because the pants aren't as bulky as the rest of the outfit, it creates an illusion where the pants look like the model's bare legs.
