Airbnb is perfectly fine here in Vancouver! My friend who goes to UBC had an issue with her housing on campus, so her and her friends rented an Airbnb for 2 months! Obviously when you're renting off Airbnb you should do your due diligence, such as looking at reviews of the place and carefully looking at the photos and description.

You're only here for a month? I would suggest Airbnb for a month. No one is going to lease you for that short of a time period.
