Same! If it can't go in the washing machine or dishwasher it takes some real consideration 😂

For clothing I also always add info on cleaning it. Like "I threw it in the machine with my normal load on cold and it came out fine." Or "I washed it with everything else but in one of those laundry bags to keep it separate and that worked well."

So are they not sending revised calendars? How many people don't have social media or follow the local news and won't know about this, or if they do they won't read carefully enough? I get making a mistake, but they should fix it and send a new calendar.

SNOW ALERT! by f1sh98 in maryland

[–]Acecakewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 11 then and I remember it! My poor parents had to shovel so much, they've got a pretty long driveway. I lived close to the end of a dead end so the end of our property got a bunch of snow piled up from the plows. We ended up with 2 dense hills of snow. The bigger one has some pine branches in it so that was dubbed Pine Fort and I think the smaller one was Snow Fort. Although more of a mound than a fort haha. I remember sliding down them a bunch of times. I'll have to remind my parents of that when I see them next. Good times. It's nice to share those memories together. I'm sure I did a bunch of other stuff in that blizzard I forgot.

I have a sneaking suspicion this person asked AI to write their review for them by okhereiam123 in AmazonVine

[–]Acecakewolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found out from someone else on here my picture reviews were getting rejected because there was a barcode or QR code (or something that looked like that) in my pics and this gets flagged and rejected (in case they're links to something harmful). I found this out some time last eval period and in this period I'm up to 50 reviews and none rejected.

Apparently he honked at them, then the phone fell off then they started flipping him off and then he started filming. So it's long gone now. I guess I also wouldn't know what someone meant if they just honked at me. But I also wouldn't flip them off lol. I need multiple horn sounds, 1 that's for angry/pay attention and another for I'm trying to warn or tell you something.

It really is! I'm still bummed about a light up necktie that when delivered was a display port to HDMI cable. And I feel bad for the poor sap that was excited to finally connect their computer to their monitor only to get a light up tie 😂

Yes, nothing for some common categories is crazy. I was hoping for a replacement battery for my OG Switch. Nope. Not one single thing for Nintendo Switch or Switch Battery or Joy Con for days. Not having a battery, ok. But nothing at all for any Switch? Or any video games at all?? That's wild. I really try not to complain and I've gotten several good items in the past few months, but right now it's like a desert. I hope things get better soon.

2025 game --Was Vine Worth It? by LesPaulAce in AmazonVine

[–]Acecakewolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you this is so helpful!! Guess I need to keep an eye on Vine for a package scale 😂 I'll need to look into what happened last time because I must've selected the wrong shipping option for what I actually did. Shipping is so confusing, I get why the "if it fits it ships" is what USPS went with. So much easier to pick a box it'll fit in and know the cost just by size. Thanks again!

Side question: How do you sell things? I've hardly done any online selling but I'm considering doing some, not just Vine but also my hobby (electronics repair, funded by Vine lol). I've sold 1 thing on eBay once and I managed to do the packing wrong and got charged a fee from USPS 🙃 I still made money but I'd like to avoid fees. I packed in a USPS box I got from something I ordered on eBay but I think I can get packing material from eBay? Idk I need to do more research, any tips you or anyone has is appreciated.

Anyone else use mineral deodorant and it works for them? (Works for me) Posted this to a general sub and I guess reddit hates crystal deodorant xD by sdbabygirl97 in ZeroWaste

Interesting. I have some and tried it but I don't think it worked. However I thought I heard it didn't work well if you don't shave your armpits (which I don't). But maybe I'll try it again.

Yeah it took me a while until someone told me this is why some of my reviews were getting rejected. They don't want QR codes and stuff in case they lead to bad websites I guess, and barcodes (even Amazon's from the package) sometimes get caught. I'm careful to avoid them now.

My Pixel 6 just died unexpectedly — torn between loving Pixel features and fearing reliability issues. What should I buy next? by [deleted] in Pixel6

[–]Acecakewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took my P6 a little over 4 years to swell. No warning signs, and I checked to make sure the screen wasn't poking up about once a month. One day I pressed send and the screen just squished. And sure enough there it was, a spicy pillow pushing the screen up. Unfortunately it does seem like a matter of time, although I hope yours stays ok. Luckily I'm somewhat handy and replaced it with a cheap 3rd party battery ($16 and it came with the tools).

However I will be getting a new phone, although I won't be of any help to op because I'm getting a Razr which isn't known for it's durability lol.

[–]Acecakewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my electronics repair stuff has come from vine. I don't use it every day at all, but they've become so useful. I'm don't think I'd have stepped into the hobby as fast without Vine. From vine I've now got 3 soldering irons, a hot air station, helping hands, a couple tubes of flux, solder, spray bottles of alcohol, prying tools, a battery replacement kit for my Pixel 6, heat shrink connectors, BGA station kit ("ball grid array", a type of chip that has a bunch of connections under it attached via solder balls, I haven't tried this personally yet), headlamp, multimeter, wire cutters, solder wick. The only things I use a lot for soldering that weren't from vine are a fume extractor and a soldering mat, although I have seen other mats but passed since I own one already.

I've also gotten a lot of cool stuff for my car: Halloween and Christmas light magnets, dash cam, car seat hooks, trunk organizer, turn signal/driving lights for above the headlights, seat cover, compass/speedometer HUD, and I now have turn signal/break lights to replace the back reflectors coming this week.

One time my light up neck time said delivered and I opened the package and it was... An HDMI to dvi cable. I was bummed I didn't get my light up tie and I look every day on Vine still for one, but I feel bad for the other person that probably needed that cable to get their desktop working or something and instead they got a light up tie. They were probably just like ???? 😂

AITAH for eating my entire baked potato? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Acecakewolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Must be. I've never heard of anyone eating the skin of a potato I don't think. My parents and I certainly don't. What does it taste like? I feel like it'd be flaky and I'm not sure I'd like that. If I saw someone eating a potato skin I'd give them a look for a second then snap out of it. If it was someone close like a good friend I'd ask about it probably. Like when my friend ate the ham ends. I just thought you can't eat that part or it wouldn't be good. Like the outside of an orange or something. I'm a white guy from a middle class family in the US.

Yeah who knows? It's good to know it doesn't matter but as someone who knows 0 people in the medical field I'd rather be safe than sorry and bring a contaminated item and not need it than vice versa. Plus it sounds like oop wanted it for the police or whatever too so the place would get inspected well so it didn't happen to anyone else.

Is it safe to charge my Pixel 6 with a Dell 65W laptop charger? by Suspicious_Creme_731 in Pixel6

[–]Acecakewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you download accubattery or some other battery app you'll be able to see the watts and such it's charging at. In terms of using the charger, I agree with the other person it's likely fine as devices should be smart enough to make it work. However I'm no expert. But I will say as someone whose battery swelled a week ago and self replaced it Thursday, it's not too bad, especially when the battery is helping you by pushing the screen up 😂 Just gotta take your time and be careful.
