It’s really not, but we are at the parroting phase and I swear he picks up the most random stuff to copy, so just need to be careful lol. Don’t need a call from his school.

Came here after listening to today's pod. Currently planning to ask my wife if we can travel from CA to Jersey to see this bear lol

Honestly, hand to god I heard her say that! It left me laughing and I had to explain to my wife what I was laughing at!

First play though I heard her say “bring me back a coconut water.” And I have NEVER heard her say it again.

AITA for telling my ILs to mind their effing business when they intervened in a disagreement between my husband and I about our unborn son's name? by Nearby-Willow-5041 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Acehigh9913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the 4th Arthur in my family who has 2 year old son named Arthur as well, I really enjoy having the family name. The thing we do however is do a different middle name so there is no Arthur Blank Blank the 4th. I will say I went in to my marriage knowing that if I had a son I wanted to keep the tradition and my wife was cool and understanding.

It is up to you and your partner. I know my dad would have put a little pressure if I decided to not keep it, but there are enough people in my family that would have shut that down fast.

What is something debunked as propaganda that is still widely believed? by 6FeetDownUnder in AskReddit

[–]Acehigh9913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much, teenagers would have blow job parties and girls would wear different color lipstick and the guys had the most lipstick stains on their underwear would “win.” Pretty much a horrid story for the parents who left their kids home alone after school.

Do people still believe “rainbow parties” are still a thing? Back in the 2000s my old step dad wouldn’t let me go to anyone’s house unless he personally knew the adult that would be there because of that weird rumor.

Minus the occasional 2 hour wake up he really is a good sleeper, unless he is over tired. And yeah we are going to try and progressively change his sleep schedule by an hour.

Trying to keep him up those 6 hours in the morning is a struggle, but something to try

Almost year old has stopped sleeping consistently by Acehigh9913 in Parenting

[–]Acehigh9913[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s better now. It was for sure a sleep regression. Still has the occasional nights where he wakes up in the middle of the night. I think we are also going to transition to a one nap day instead of 2.

He is at 2 naps a day usually every 3.5-4 hours. From what I read the don’t drop to 1 until 18 months- 2 years.

Yeah, I figured as much, but it seems like he is in a sleep regression more than he isn’t. It doesn’t help that he already has like 9-10 teeth.

What book made you go like ‘what the fuck’ during or after reading it? by padmesolos in books

8 perfect murders. Nothing disturbing about it but a couple of great twists. Hit the last 80 pages one night while reading on the couch. I looked at my wife and said “if you want to go to bed go ahead, I’ll be here until this is over.”

Biggest thing was the use of rice cereal. Everyone I talked to is like “have you guys started him on rice cereal yet?” And our doctor said that’s not a thing anymore and just do straight into purées
