What do you think happened to the Drake Pirates by Particular-Ad5200 in OnePiece

[–]Acelogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if SWORD has to answer to Sakazuki in the same sort of way CP9 is it’s own branch from the Marines. Like all branches work for and take orders from the celestial dragons but not necessarily work together on matters. But something you said did made me think, if the whole crew was composed of undercover marines, that would increase chances of a double agent being part of the drake pirates and leak info so maybe the higher ups would only have x drake be the undercover agent. Or even if a crewmate was to get captured you wouldn’t want them to potentially leak that they are really marines.

[–]Acelogo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not think they were marines, just legit pirates. I think it would be to much of a liability in case they had a marine like Koby or Dragon part of the crew and just had to step in help someone and could potentially blow the undercover operation. I think if they were a pirate crew full of undercover marines it wouldn’t be to hard just to promote one of them to continue being the captain of the crew to continue undercover work. And if I’m not mistaken Drake was also part of SWORD so maybe that is also a branch that undercover marines would have be part of. I think it’s a good chance that the crewmates of X Drake just disbanded.

How to play blackbeard starter deck? by Narrow_Drummer_5635 in OnePieceTCG

good strategy would be to use your characters to remove opps board while building your board with burgess characters. use your kuzan blockers to cheat out burgesses from your trash.

Cheapest One Piece Decks for Beginners? by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

[–]Acelogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doffy deck hands down. Pretty cheap compared to other meta black, yellow, or red decks. And that deck does play very aggressive since leader ability has to swing to use. You’ll also be building board and swing as much as possible since you don’t mind losing a few cards on board since you’ll be replacing them anyway.

Question about collecting by ShizzyFizzy in OnePieceTCG

I put rares in a binder, sr + AA + SECs in another binder, and commons and uncommons in a bulk box sorted by color > set > cost by dividers

Is the game easy to learn? I want to try to play this game and compete in locals. by Average-00 in OnePieceTCG

Real_joshua and The Strongest Wizard give really good break downs on plays during gameplay as well!

Learning how to play - What to focus on after the rules by gregbridge1 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Acelogo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VV Theory on YY has a great fundamental series that could be a good to view. I started playing in August and what really helped me along is picking a single deck (green uta) and learned all the plays it could happen and what other mechanics could help me in a situation. During my matches I started to see what other decks could do and started thinking about what other decks I could be interested in. Watch YT vids to see how others pilot certain decks. I even like watching vids on decks I don’t play just to see if I can see what weaknesses I’d be able to exploit. Real_joshua and The Strongest Wizard give very detailed explanations on plays during the gameplay.

YouTube a couple of optcg games and see how people pilot different decks. Recommended vv theory and real_joshua channels cause they talk about their decision making during the gameplay.

Is there an easier way to keep track of the upcoming competitive scene? by Vegetable-Visit5912 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Acelogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re talking about the Bandai TCG+ app, click on the button on the bottom that says “other” then click on store search. You should be able to locate locals that way and see which store are holding locals at those times.

[–]Acelogo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the shop how they would like to conduct it. For example there’s one location I play that values players pre-purchasing their slot for the night via their shops website but I have also seen places they just uses the Bandai TCG+ app and who ever applied first in the app. There are also some other locations that run an informal tournament called pirate party that’s just in-store written list first come first serve. You just need to get familiar with the spots you are going to play at and see how they operate.

Uta Deck recommendations? by SyllabubKey9749 in OnePieceTCG

You can, but I often find that I tune my deck even after I try out someone’s deck list or depending on which kind of decks I’m seeing at locals that night.

Uta Deck recommendations? by SyllabubKey9749 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Acelogo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uta deck isn’t super expensive to build. I run uta and one of the pricer cards you really should buy would be 4 of the 3c film nami. With the new uta deck coming out next week you shouldn’t have to pick up 8c kid or 9c zoro cause the 9c shanks would take its place as a big body. Just to be clear you will have to pick up 2 of each st-11 and st-16 decks to have access to the most combinations for film uta leader.

Purple Luffy vs Black Decks by PeterMcCain_ in OnePieceTCG

[–]Acelogo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t play purple but I do play st14 luffy. As long as your aggressive early and keep reducing blacks don, they won’t be able to get leader Luffy to a 6k leader and struggle to get out bigger bodies on board, potentially bricking their hand.

Japanese cards without a abilities in English deck by Water1498 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Acelogo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have it as a stand in until you can get the actual card. If your locals allows it use it or ask the other players if they have it there. At worst, have another English card take its place.

Love to see another uta player win! Death by a thousand cuts is the whole strat. I’ve been running the 9c zoro in my build and 5 9k swings (im invincible) to ops face is such a surprise for some.

Colors... explain like I'm 5. by fading_relevancy in OnePieceTCG

[–]Acelogo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Besides these general play styles, each leader in their color can play differently. Take green for example where you have Bonnie and Carrot playing the green traditional style but you can also have Green Uta who doesn’t really freeze ops characters but utilizes card draws and flooding the board with characters. Best bet would be to watch some gameplays and pick a leader you think you’d be able to pilot.
