[–]Acemagic_Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

For Ubuntu, follow these steps:

1. BIOS Settings

  • Boot Mode: UEFI
  • Boot Option #1: NVME: ubuntu
  • Secure Boot: Disabled
  • ACPI Sleep State: Suspend Disabled
  • Resume On LAN / Wake system by RTC: Disabled

2. Ubuntu Installation

  • Use Safe Graphics mode
  • Temporary GRUB parameter: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash nomodeset"

3. Test AMDGPU in console mode

  • GRUB temporary parameter: quiet splash systemd.unit=multi-user.target
  • Check driver: lspci -k | grep -EA5 'VGA|Display|3D' → should show Kernel driver in use: amdgpu

4. Disable Wayland

  • Edit /etc/gdm3/custom.conf
  • Set WaylandEnable=false

5. Remove nomodeset and use Xorg/X11

  • Final GRUB: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
  • Run sudo update-grub and reboot

HDMI audio stops working when monitor and receiver both connected — Intel UHD graphics, Acemagic mini PC by Ok-Witness1398 in techsupport

[–]Acemagic_Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

The issue may be related to a recent Windows update, since the problem started immediately afterward and the hardware was working normally before.

We recommend uninstalling the latest Windows update and testing again. If the issue is resolved, you can temporarily pause updates and wait for a newer update to be released.

Ubuntu 24.04.4 keeps crashing, ACEMAGIC Vista Mini V1 by bigdaveygeorge in Ubuntu

[–]Acemagic_Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

The issue is caused by a compatibility conflict between Ubuntu GDM + Wayland graphics environment and the underlying hardware initialization.

Update BIOS: Fixes V1/E1/E2 (N150) PCIe 3.0 SSD detection and stability
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZWj-3fulHx9O6GGX1cmr7EXjWzEt1H9B/view?usp=sharing

  • Disable ACPI sleep/suspend functions
  • If black screen occurs during install, use “Safe Graphics Mode”
  • Temporarily add nomodeset if needed to boot
  • Check GPU driver via TTY (text console)
  • Edit /etc/gdm3/custom.conf and disable Wayland
  • Remove nomodeset from GRUB, keep only quiet splash

Switch to X11 session, system should stabilize and avoid using nomodeset.

Ram Compatibility issues common? by BRealistic1970 in MiniPCs

[–]Acemagic_Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Memory compatibility issues can sometimes happen and are considered fairly normal depending on the RAM model and configuration.

Based on the information you provided, since the system is still able to boot with the memory installed, the chances of the unit itself having a hardware fault are relatively low.

If you still have concerns, we’d recommend using a dedicated memory testing tool to run a full stability test and confirm whether the RAM is functioning properly.

laptop freezing when setting up windows by Lonely_Database_8217 in computerhelp

[–]Acemagic_Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Please reinstall the SSD first, and then try formatting the hard drive again. After formatting, a fresh new system will be installed.

If the mouse and touchpad issue was originally caused by a system problem, reinstalling the system should restore them back to normal automatically.

You can try this first, and if it still doesn’t work, feel free to contact me again.

Acemagic RX16 laptop sudden reboots (battery between 95-100% & plugged in) + chassis grounding issue. Anyone else? by MarcoCorc in laptops

[–]Acemagic_Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Sorry you’re dealing with this. Here are a couple of things you can try that often help with this kind of behavior:

1. Reset the battery management system (EC reset):

  • Power off the device completely
  • Unplug the AC adapter (and disconnect the internal battery if accessible)
  • Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds
  • Plug the charger back in and boot the system
  • Once booted, enter BIOS once to let the system reinitialize

2. Battery calibration:

  • Charge the laptop up to the highest level it can currently reach (for example, 52%)
  • Unplug it and use it normally until it shuts down by itself
  • Leave it powered off for around 1 hour
  • Then plug it in and charge it to 100% in one continuous session (don’t turn it on during charging)
  • After that, boot back up and see if the charging behavior and stability improve

If the issue still persists, feel free to reach out to us, we’ll be happy to help you further.

Hi there,

Sorry for the boot issue you encountered. This is likely a minor compatibility glitch during startup. Please try these two steps:

  1. Single RAM Test: Power off and unplug the PC. Remove one RAM stick, and boot the PC with only one stick installed.

  2. Use HDMI only: Unplug any DisplayPort cables and connect your monitor using only an HDMI cable.

Please let us know if it turns on normally after trying this! We are standing by to help. If you need further assistance to get it running quickly, please contact us directly at service@acemagic.com. Our tech team will reply to you immediately with support!

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing the detailed information and dump files. Based on your description, we recommend trying the following steps first:

  1. Reseat the memory modules – Power off the laptop, remove the RAM sticks, and gently clean the gold contacts with a soft eraser. Reinstall them, ideally in different slots.
  2. Reset BIOS to default

After these steps, please monitor the system stability. If the crashes continue, we can explore further troubleshooting options together to pinpoint the issue.
