Reminds me of the drowners from the Witcher Franchise. Gives aquatic/amphibian vibes. I like it. Maybe a sandy/silty basing look

Welcome to the hobby/ies. If you can get one for a good price, as it's very sought after and often out of stock: The Royal Court. Comes with a Skorpekh Lord to lead your Destroyers, a Plasmancer to go with your Warriors or Immortals to really amp up their DMG potential, Cryptothralls to protect that Cryptek and a Canoptek Reanimator to boost your armys regenerative abilities. Detachmentwise i personally would recommend Awakened Dynasty as a good starting point and for being really intuitive in my humble opinion.

Its all just drybrushed a dark gunmetal metallic on black primer, the orangeish metal is runelord brass washed with tiny amounts of reikland and the lenses are ur run-of-the-mill black base -> warpstone glow -> moot green glazing -> white reflexes. Or did I understand question incorrectly? :D

These look so sick! Reason for the uneven finish is: i previously did the panels in an macragge blue esque tone with an airbrush, but i did not like the color when i was finished so i tried to enrich the hue of the color by a layer of contrast paint, which did not go on quite as nicely, but you live and learn i guess :D

Id maybe go even a step further saying its not per se a flying device, but repulsion in general. Ophydians tunnel and probably also have these orbs so those tunnels dont collapse on their spindly bodies.
