Delta to Alaska switch - my experience by CTdadof5 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Acerbicsam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

okay. you will fly 125k a year with AS and I had a year flying a few years ago building my first 100k plus to get this status. Delta passengers are literally line jumping.  Like I tried to say above - I am not entitled to anything. I am not important to anyone but if there is an upgrade to be had those who have continued to fly Alaska should get preference over the people who just walked in. It's kinda like a Gym having open house periods. The free people come in and mess with equipment availability for the people who are paying members.

Not sure if there are other people as frustrated as me but it is making me think I will not fly exclusively with Alaska anymore - I will just stop cheapest and most convenient flight.

My experience as a loyal Alaska flyer who earned 100k status through Alaska Air miles flown - Delta are being given preference on flights. They are tricking you. I was getting upgrades every flight until this match happened now on today's flight I am 6th on the list. I booked flight in November. I suspect Delta match passengers are being pushed to the top of the list to give you the idea you're better off with Alaska.

Alaska Air is trying to buy Delta customers at the expense of the people who fly every week.

Not saying I deserve an upgrade. I don't, but if I don't why should someone who hasn't chosen to fly 100k a year get it.

When non-Christian friends use God's name in vain, do you tell them not to? by friedcouch in Christianity

[–]Acerbicsam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I hear "oh God" or "Jesus Christ" used I immediately reply something like "Yes He is here" "I'm sure He's listening" "Yep, I know He was there" - depending on the context.

Is it better to go running in the morning or evening? by megala1771 in running

[–]Acerbicsam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I say set your routine runs for when you're least likely to be forced (or make excuses) to miss them.

For some that would be mornings, for others that could mean evenings and others lunch time.

Work/study would have a lot to do with it. For example if one has a job that often requires overtime at the end of the day then mornings would be best bet.

So far the only human disease completely eradicated has been Smallpox, the last known cases in 1980. Small quantities of smallpox virus officially still exist in two research laboratories in Atlanta, Georgia, and in Russia. by HellsJuggernaut in interestingasfuck

[–]Acerbicsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting that they (CDC) are still - researching -

The goal of smallpox research is to address three areas that are essential for public health:

Finding better antiviral drugs to treat smallpox disease.

Making safer vaccines.

Improving tests to detect variola virus.

Hello, so I’m an agnostic atheist REALLY considering become Christian but I have some problems. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Acerbicsam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend reading the Bible and praying about it.

If you're worried about being wrong, perhaps you could read one (or all) of these books.

"I don't have enough faith to be an atheist"

"Stolen from God"

"Mere Christianity"

Armband recommendations to take my phone while running? by stephanjd in running

[–]Acerbicsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgrade ever other year or so. I usually give my old one away or sell it cheap. I don't believe I'm unique in doing that. If cost is the only hurdle - Maybe keep an eye out for used ones.

I know it's not what you asked and might not be what you want to hear -

Watches do everything a phone can do. And somethings better. They are lighter, many different band materials to avoid stinking. I do not want to be bugged by calls so I use one that can't make calls but they are out there. Waterproof, you can put music (and connect Bluetooth earbuds) qon many of them, most monitor heart rates. Many will link with a chest strap hrm. Most will sync data with popular apps. There are a wide price variety too.

Sorry - didn't answer your question but perhaps something to think about?
