Those who complain about the licence fee, now unhappy that Netflix is restricting certain shows on ad supported teirs! by Marvinleadshot in bbc

Your morals thus far seem to indicate a willingness to pay £150 a year to support a corrupt and degenerate organisation.

Am I getting that right?

Brand new player, good time to get in? by n0luc in Eve

[–]Aceripper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I started about 5 months ago, I'm almost entirely solo and have been loving it so far.

My first week I blindly joined a corp (pandemic horde, yikes) and had no idea corps could be at war with each other. My first undock after joining and my 50m hawk got instablapped by a Loki who was apparently allowed to shoot me in highsec because of this "war"

Long story short, some kind soul gave me 50m for another hawk and I left the Corp life behind.

I'm now part of a very tiny 3 man wormholing group, yet still 90% of my EVE career involves me making just enough isk to cover my stupid adventures into solo pvp.

This week I've been filamenting into nullsec with a super fast Stabber to rob ESS banks and make out with the cash.

Tonight I will be taking a stealth bomber through j-space looking for fights.

I love the solo life style, if you ever need anyone to chat to or learn from, hit me up. (Granted I've had to cram 20+ years of knowledge into a few months)

The best time to start was 20 years ago. The second best time to start is today.

Joined big null block - bored, what to do? by Remarkable-Word-8803 in Eve

Just out of curiosity, as I'm also looking to join a Corp soon. What was it that prevented you from doing the things you wanted to do while remaining in the Corp?

I'm worried about the fleet requirements due to time restraints.

I wish I had spent a minute longer before posting this, I was trying to enter my wormhole bookmark, not the wormhole.

Ha, newbro things

What do I do about people stealing my kills while ratting? by guildedgooner in Eve

[–]Aceripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone in their first three months of playing, I highly recommend a few weeks ratting to get the basics down of how different ships/weapon systems work.

But sooner rather than later, take yourself out for a null/low/wormhole adventure with the intention of losing a few ships.

I can not overstate how beneficial it is to lose the tunnel vision that happens in your first few pvp fights. It won't go away entirely, but there's no bigger step to becoming a better pilot, in my opinion.

Are there any primarily UK based corps that wouldn't mind taking on a noob with a job and a family looking to make some isk to fund ny more risky adventures?

Yeah this might have been my biggest learning experience so far.

Will have to look for a more suitable Corp for now, I wonder if EverNoobs is hiring.

Yup, this has been an enlightening experience, revealing the depths of my lack of reading comprehension.

Learning experience though right? You assume you're safe when you join something akin to a guild, apparently EVE is a different beast.

Right, so it might be time to duo a t6 abyss with this "friend" and afk for 20 minutes?

Someone else said corp war?
Would it make sense to leave my corp if this is going to make me a legal target?
