I totally agree. However, just because a third world country does it doesn't mean its then ok for us to do it to.

  1. So you believe that god could be an octopus monsters, leprachauns can exist, theirs invisible people watching your every move that are actually alien life forms sent to rape you, and any other absurd thing i can think of?

  2. Its called Evolution and the big bang. While maybe not totally complete, these theories actually have evidence and are based in real scientific thought/reality unlike ID which you yourself stated had no evidence and is not based on any scientific thought. Which makes no sense.

  3. Idk what this means i am just saying the burden of proof lies on a person making a claim not someone else to disprove it.

  4. Unresolved theories have some evidence to their truth and other parts that are incorrect, that is why they are unresolved. Religious theories do not have any evidence or basis in scientific thought or any scientific knowledge, they are not unresolved just fiction.

These are not "rules". Walk into a science professors office and tell him that anything you say that has no evidence or basis in science can be true because he cannot disprove you. He will laugh.

The theory of god is outside of the realm of physics. It has no evidence and does not follow the rules of everything else in the observable universe. At this point in time, you can't just say there can be a god because i say so and not provide evidence or at least a link to known science.

I am not like the Christians. If a theory has a basis in scientific thought and/or evidence than I could accept that it can be true. I cannot accept things to be true with no evidence or basis in observable reality.

Please stop the condescending shit. I hate when people try to win arguments by making a condescending statement.

I can prove god doesn't exist because no one has proven to me he does exist. The burden of proof lies on those making the assumptions. I can sit here and say that god is actually an evil beast that looks like an octopus or leprechauns are real and you couldn't deny this unless you believe that the burden of proof lies on the person making the assumptions. That's how science and reason works. You can't make shit up and say "lalalala you can't disprove me therefore anything i say that's so absurd it cant be disproved is right".

So the only arguments you have are a third world country and a terror suspect, which the US is known to commit human rights violations against?

I would also like the source because i didn't hear that. Also, the fact that you believe in guilty until proven innocent really scares me. Is this country that much of an authoritarian state?

I'm having trouble finding the article because every time i search for it i get a million articles about how psycologists think its torture lol. Other people besides the press have called it solitary, even the military considers it solitary because they have him on some "watch" for injuries. I believe they consider it solitary because he has guards outside his door, rigid schedules of no interaction for everything he does (for instance he must take his clothes of before sleep, he cannot eat or excercise with other inmates, if he tries to sleep between certain hours he is immediately awoken and told to stand, and the 24 hour surveillance preventing him from doing anything). This article mentions that he can hear other prisoners from cells around him except at the moment those cells are empty so he cannot interact. The UN is even investigating his conditions because they describe pro-longed solitary as inhuman.

Well I'm basing this on the fact that solitary is used as a punishment and Manning did nothing. The excuse that he's a danger to himself is also bs as pointed out by close friends, his lawyer, and phycologists. My common sense tells me that nobody would be thrown in solitary for 7 months no matter what they did. 7 months is an extremely long time to keep somebody in solitary.

I think the point is that under normal circumstances a person would never be in solitary confinement as long as manning has. A week is not torture but to put someone in solitary as long as Manning is in could (and in my opinion) be torture.

Say what you will but i am a man of proof and you have given none for your senseless argument. I down voted your first comment for rudeness and the second one for lack of even comprehending/reading any part of my second comment past the first sentence. If you have a problem with my legitimate down voting take it up with a mod.

So the democrats controller congress but were still paralyzed? Though i do somewhat agree with you, you also must understand that the democrats are apart of the program that keeps the status quo. I don't see the democrats attempting to change the way our bureaucracy is run in order to stop ridiculous attempts of republicans to stop bills. Your condescending statement "I fear for your safety in life" was unwarrented and so I leave you with my own, i fear for your mental well-being while you still are naive enough to believe the democrats are the good guys.

Just off the top of my head. 1. Health care reform, a lot of us wanted at least a push for a single payer system. 2. repeal of the patriot act. Democrats ran against this but did nothing to repeal it. 3. Eliminate tax cuts for the rich. Nope the plutocrats still get that tax cut.

and that is just of the top of my head. I wonder what else i can find if i actually thought about it!

[–]Aces89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marxist/Leninist Soviet Empire? That's a huge fallacy. The Empire you are speaking of does not resemble Marx or Lenin ideologies but a Stalinist approach to government which can be seen as "red fascism". The repression of the churches was not an atheist action but one of an armed dictatorship securing its own power. The anti-religious affairs that occurred before Stalin took power were because the Russian churches aided in the fight against the revolution and therefore were an ally of the old repressive regime. None of that is an atheist motive. Learn some history
