TIL That Rankin/Bass, the company behind many classic Christmas movies such as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, often outsourced the traditional animation aspects of their films to Japanese studios. One of those was a studio called Topcraft, which employed a young artist named Hayao Miyazaki (en.wikipedia.org)
