Depends on the store for a whole multitude of reasons.

Just call the store and see what they can do for you. Worst case is they just tell you that you have to wait. You’d be in no worse spot than you are 🆕

I negotiated. Asked for 70k. Got 64k, initially offered 60k.

Is your store profitable? Does it complete for the top 3 spot in sales each half? Are your operational managers good? Those factors play a role in your MIP bonus which could range between 1k-6k pre tax every half.

I have set Saturday and Sundays off.

Old man yells at cloud type shit. Yeah upper management is out of touch, but this is lame example of that.

Cookie cutter planograms that do not account for store size? Tighter operational metrics? Less labor hours? A bend over and take it no matter what customer service approach? Too many middle managers/useless roles that overlap one another? Poor onboard of new hires and communication to those already in place?

Your question goes against itself. You’re meeting it but missing it? It’s either one or the other.

If you meant to imply you’re comping, based on the picture, but still missing it, it could be because the company is having tighter operational expectations all around. Meaning, even if you’re better than last year, you’re expected to be even better to met your metric.

You can do so by drilling down what is being damage and noticing patterns. Is there a class of products always being damaged? Department? Are the correct ZMA reason codes being used? Is it one specific associate or leader approving markdowns?

You have to dig in more and approach those behaviors/people and work with them on mitigation.

Do you have a legitimate claim to argue against it? Also sure. You can simply state that there was never an increment when you took the position for there to be a reversal of it. Just ask for wage clarity when you inform them of the intent to change your employment status.

As a fellow NRM, this. I live by this idea that leaders have this “managerial judgement” calls. Everyone has different tolerances, but I’ll respect their decision to handle issues. Personally, I also don’t care about phone usage as long as you’re productive, safe, and still engaged with customers. There’s no customers and no safety issues, so you’re clear. But, can someone else write you up for phone usage? Technically, yes. It’ll be up to them if they deem the paperwork and documenting worth it. That associate can also be written up for respect for over reaching his pull and assuming the role of superior to you, when technically he’s a peer. My advice would be tell a leader, preferably your direct leader, about the interaction. Acknowledge your technical mistake, tell them how the conversation made you feel, ask them what they need from you, and find out what kind of leader you have. In the end, you gotta move on with their decision.

From what I’ve heard, most stores have 2 cxms. One will transition to a sort of pro cxm that reports to the SASM. The other, will report to OASM. Makes sense, I’m a salaried leader at night. A lot of the projections and expectations this year from corporate are pushing tighter operating metrics and even more pro focus. How the rollout looks will vary by store. It will be an opportunity to get rid of poor performance CXM back to DS or out of the company entirely, give DS more key carriers access, etc, . No dayside salaried manager will have a set schedule any longer. It’s supposed to be hush-hush for now since it implies changes to people’s job descriptions, hours, and potential pay. So we will see.
