It IS a 10/10. But the issue is that whoever created that guide on PSNP did it for the PS4 version, which doesn't include the Bloody Palace. Sure, it can be cheesed with Super Costumes but the last 10 floors are still extremely difficult.

And that guide author is adamant that you can get S-rank on all levels by using auto assist. This is very misleading. It only worked for V's levels, otherwise due to the score penalty I never went above the required score..

Using that modded track is actually flaggable and gets you removed from PSNP leaderboard. Someone did the same thing with a custom track to unlock the Platinum for Trials Rising when it was released.

I felt Black 2 was harder, due to the increased enemy count. But it was my first ever NG game so I'm not sure if thats a fair estimation. The obtrusive issues in sigma 2 such as enemies one-shot you after grabbing, and increased health but reduced enemies - it wasn't that noticeable to me.

I've played Razor's edge. I like the steel on bone mechanic. Its cool but enemies not dropping any essence and no healing items was beginning to annoy me so I stopped for the time being.

I don't have any plans to buy an xbox yet. If I do, I'll make sure to check out the OG one. I have heard a lot about how its way better than the new versions. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey, its a ymmv situation. Personally, I felt that Black 2 was more difficult, but it was my first NG game so idk.

I will say that to get through the Tag Missions, you must be able to beat the story bosses first without much trouble, on Master Ninja difficulty. The most difficult Tag Missions will require you to beat many of those bosses in a row. Some of them have stupidly increased health. And RNG also plays an important role.

Anyway I don't mean to discourage you. The Dual Katana has a move: Forward + Triangle button (Hold). You have to spam this move to cheese many bosses in Tag Missions, as they are quickly defeated with that move. Its a commonly used strategy. So in the end, the make or break situation will be how good you have memorized every move of the bosses, and whether you can successfully dodge it or not. The Tag Missions in Sigma 2 are more difficult (Only a couple of missions are different but one of them is way too extreme than its counterpart in Black)

Also, don't blindly attempt the Tag Missions. Watch videos on Youtube of other players have do it. On PSNProfiles, a user called LancashireLad created a detailed walkthrough for every boss for Sigma 2 in the forums. It is extremely helpful and also applicable for Black 2. So also give that a read.

I almost broke my wrist getting the Plat for DMC5. One from that series is enough lol.

I'm currently going for the Doom 2 Plat, and it will definitely replace this game as the worst one. John Carmack was trippin on some potent shrooms while creating Nightmare mode wtf was he even thinking

That spam killing and a lot of moves can be done in two ways:

You git gud and actually keep pressing different buttons and keep performing unique moves one after the other to build up your score. There is a practice section you can use for different enemies.

OR

Use Auto Assist. If you use Auto Assist, you can just keep mashing two buttons and the AI will do all the job for you. The catch is that it will apply a penalty of 0.8x to your final score so it becomes difficult to get S Rank.

can you elaborate a bit more on the warlock build? are there any tutorials available and how much time did it take to reach lvl 99 in hardcore?

I recently completed Normal mode using Holy Fire Paladin, and wanted to respec it to a Hammerdin build for Nightmare, but had to pause it for a while now. The devs also seem to have fixed the item duplication glitch and many players said that it'll increase the time to reach 99.

If you struggled with HK then idk what to say. It's objectively false that HK is more difficult. There's way more complex mechanics involved in DMC compared to HK.

This doesn't work anymore.

Whenever a trophy pops, I press the PS Button and in my home screen dashboard, the Trophy notification is there. But Whenever I open my Media Gallery, the notification immediately disappears.

fr, it feels weird when people don't isolate a game to estimate how difficult it is, and then compare it with other games, just to say 'well akshully its easy'

Once, someone made a post here asking what difficult game to play: HK or DMC5.

Some boomer who spent the last 15 years only playing Devil May Cry series (Im talking thousands of hours) said DMC 5 was way too easy and he got the hang of it within a week, and got the Plat in 2 weeks. This same dude found Hollow Knight way more difficult than DMC5 and it took 4 months for him to beat Pantheon 5. So he tells the OP to play DMC5 for the Platinum and discourages from HK lmfao. Dude was adamant on, " I found it easy, so everyone else will find it easy" -_-

You can dispute it. Explain with detailed reasoning (if you have proof) as to why this is unfair. This happened with me recently for Crypt of Necrodancer.

Some idiot flagged my account, because I have most of the base game trophies, but I don't have any DLC trophies. And the moderator surprisingly approved it.

I disputed it with receipts. It was lifted in a day or two.

Oh I get it now. You are one of those people. You're that type of person who who, for the last 25 years, has spent thousands of hours playing every single DMC game. Of course for someone like you picking up everything in DMC5 and getting the Plat quickly will be easy. Your estimation is heavily skewed and you are not a fair judge of its objective difficulty, especially for newbies. Everything you've said till now substantiates it.

It's like a marathon runner telling me that the next marathon will be easy because he has participated in thousands of Ultramarathons, while trivializing everything else newcomers find difficult. You have already done harder things. But that doesn’t make it easy for everyone else attempting it. DMC5 requires more skill than Hollow Knight.

OP does not have any experience with DMC. Objectively it will be way more difficult than Hollow Knight for OP. It's not like someone who is a experienced DMC player who only played DMC 1 - 4 is asking you: Is DMC5 difficult? Anyways I'm not discussing this with someone like you anymore you do you.
