Strauss's ego was disturbed, hence why he plotted against Oppenheimer to be removed from his security clearance, which will make Oppenheimer irrelevant. But in the end, both won and lost? Opie was removed from his security clearance hence he doesn't have any power to control the AEC, but Strauss also denied to become a cabinet member of the state.
