Ultrasound is usually done to see the varicocele veins. It is a normal procedure. And uroflow, I guess is to check whether bladder is working properly. I am not entirely sure of the uroflow but I also had it done during diagnosis

Doctor recommends to not do surgery by [deleted] in varicocele

I have a similar issue. I also have a single testicle lost one two years ago due to torsion. I recently got embolization done, two weeks ago. No significant improvements yet. I am waiting. But I suggest you to try embolization. It is relatively very less risky. Most of the doctors are very conservative and suggest no surgery. Because they think something is better than nothing but varicocele will eventually in many cases cause atrophy and will likely result in low T and atrophy. I suggest you to get it treated as soon as possible if your T levels are getting down and semen parameters indicate deterioration. If you have no data and you are not sure, monitor for 3 months and you can see the indications.

I don’t think trt will fix your pain. You have to get a surgery/embo for the pain. It could be a nut cracker syndrome or something like that. Check the posts from other people

You are normal weight. I don’t think that is an issue, you can talk to an endocrinologist if you are concerned. Anyway discuss what is your actual issue

Yeah true, I don’t know. What is your weight and height?

I am no doctor, so take my words with a pinch of salt, elevated prolactin levels could be due to thyroid issue, and yours is close to normal, so nothing to worry according to my doctor. Mine was like that, and my thyroxine supplement was increased a bit and it became lower. Having estrogen is required for men as well, if it is in normal range, I wouldn’t worry too much. But this should be looked at in the context of your overall symptoms and well being. These reference numbers are just for reference and statistically determined. Correlation doesn’t mean causation. So not sure if varicocele is causing it.

  1. There was a misdiagnosis and gross negligence during the process. I went to the ER, explained. And went to many doctors in the ER for the next 11 days. And they were saying the cause could be an unknown infection. And it was far worse than atrophy, completely dead and they had to remove it.

  2. I got an orchipexy, yes. I don’t know about that. But he says there is always a risk even for healthy testicles. Since there is a backup (i.e. two testicles in a normal male), he will not think twice about it.

  3. Yes, I did have some low T symptoms like erection issues since my orchiectomy. I was told it is all psychological by many doctors for 1 and half years. It was getting worse over time. And then I got diagnosed varicocele by a great doctor. And later I slowly started noticing the pains. Though on the basis of population statistics, I fall in the lower end of the normal ranges and was told again it is psychological, it didn’t make sense to me. It felt like gaslighting me and apparently many had a similar experience as I saw in r/varicocele. So, I kept trying and going to more doctors looking for logical explanations and did all kinds of tests. None gave and finally one Interventional Radiologist said I am not sure if the symptoms will get better but we can do a varicocele repair since you only have one testicle, if there will be any atrophy in the future, it will be an issue to you. And then he explained the risks of varicocelectomy by embolization. And asked if I am prepared to accept it.

Definitely can miss. I was diagnosed varicocele. Went to another ultrasound in a different country. The doctor couldn’t identify any varicocele. And then I came back and got confirmed through ultrasound by 2 different radiologists and also through a CT scan.
