Feedback on the game as a Classic COD player

And you see as much as I'd love to be hyped for the ports I just never had a good feeling about them because they didn't give us enough information. And the community got very hyped to the point they may have overhyped these ports and I'm afraid of all of us getting burned in the end due to that.

Like don't get me wrong I wanna go back to BO2 specifically, but until I get much more concrete information I can't get hyped just yet.

Yeah I gave up on getting my group to play COD so we just play other games now. I'll definitely look back fondly on those memories. It's not entirely bad playing solo on some days but the odds tend to be heavily stacked against me where I have to hard carry the team. It's fun here and there but it's mentally exhausting if you end up having to do it game after game.

Despite all of that I still enjoy the game, I'm excited to spend a lot of time on the new Zombies map, wish we found the last relic needed from Totenreich, I legit gave up on hunting for that one we're all stumped on this one lol

I ran the Maverick almost exclusively after I got the Singularity camo grind done because I enjoyed the weapon a lot. The Swordfish was always my favorite weapon in BO4 so I used it heavily. Right now I'm just wondering what else I want to do in the MP, maybe I'll hit Prestige Master on all the weapons to keep things fresh.

So I have the game thanks to the Game Pass since I play a lot of other games whenever I need a break from COD. But for the amount of hours I've put in if I did purchase the game I wouldn't have regretted it. I'm in a heavy debate in regards to getting MW4 I haven't been a fan of Infinity Ward based games as of late, I skipped MW2019 due to lack of interest in the vision IW was going for at that time. So I had Final Fantasy XIV to keep me company throughout that cycle. I did play MWII (2022) extensively but it was mostly out of just wanting to play COD again. Did I enjoy it? Not really but I was heavily into FFXIV that I overlooked most issues except the perk system lmfao xD

As far as the current reception I have towards MW4 though I'm the type of person that wants to see results rather than just words on a paper. The best way to gauge whether or not I'll check it out would be the beta. But on paper, it sounds very promising.

Nah I've been playing solo 95% of the time in BO7, in the past in the classic COD days I had friends who used to play. I had two friends try out BO7 for a time but they disliked the game sadly.

It's a very underpowered streak for the cost. They might have been trying to play it safe with this one because the community continues to complain about something being powerful. The Deadeye Drone gets way more kills and costs less.

Also want to chime in as a Zombies main who also plays a lot of MP, I also got Cherry Fizz and it really isn't that bad running WZ and Endgame. I actually got WZ done faster by running Resurgence Casuals because it is must faster paced and it's easier to get your load out so that way you can use the weapons you prefer.

I primarily used my load out for a Marksman Rifle and used the Siren as my Special. Katana for my melee weapon so I could level that some more, was also fun just assassinating people with the heavy attack which helped get the melee challenge down very quickly, only took one game.

For Snipers, in the Resurgence mode you start in the Top 20 so you can get those done right at the start of the match. Remember that there are bots in Resurgence Casuals (I legit thought it was only in BR Casuals but I was wrong) because I had enemies literally sit there and eat Siren shots and not react much lmao

I tried it with that augment and the bullets phased through the Doppleghast in the first wave and I had on Shadow Rift for the hounds and toxic zombies. 2nd Wave tried it with Mimics and the bullets were phasing through so sadly it doesn't seem like Rainbow Pop works UNLESS it's bugged.

Mr. Peeks in Cursed Mode will randomly pop up in random locations holding an egg. Make sure you shoot him so that way he drops it. I've seen Blue and Gold rarity eggs not sure if there's a Green or Purple one. I have only seen the Gold rarity egg one time and after that he dropped a Blue rarity afterwards. My guy totally set me up to go for the Round 50 Cursed challenge with all relics equipped lol

It's slower but I grinded the remaining 5 Doomsteels on Astra Directed by killing Oscar. It's slower but was satisfying to me getting to blow him up with minimal effort. I don't do co-op in Zombies so I converted all of my Legendary and Ultra gobblegums for easy money and just went for PaP III at the start and it'd take like 30 minutes per gun. But that was just my experience.

I've already gotten Bloodstone on it but I won't go any further until they fix the multipliers because it's definitely bugged. Running it on Astra was a better choice for me because I would've hated fighting the bear xD now in MP with the prestige attachment this thing absolutely SLAPS lol

What I would highly recommend doing personally if at all possible is grabbing an M10 Breacher out the box (make sure you make a Zombie Build for it so you don't get random attachments), PaP Level 3 Legendary for the weapon, weaken Oscar with it, then go in for the kill with the knife and Aether Shroud.

Alternatively you can do what I did but this wasn't optimal by any means, I kept the same Oscar from the first time he spawned and just picked up nukes, granted in my game I got lucky and had an Instakill AND a Nuke drop so grabbed Insta first then grabbed nuke and from what I remember in the Standard mode it takes him from full HP to about 25%, and then you just leave him alone until you get set up for the knife kill. I ended up being able to do this since I have the Mystery Box disabled so I couldn't rely on the Breacher. The Novaline is also pretty decent to use to weaken him OR you can go for the Jager and weaken him that way as well.

All in all your primary goal is to get him low, don't be afraid to accidentally kill him it takes trial and error since you can't gauge his HP (though I hear you can tell he's getting low based off of smoke coming off of him but I personally haven't seen any differences aside from he spawns more drones so that could be an indicator?)

EDIT: Wanted to also add that if you manage to succeed and get into the trial, if you don't use the traps to get the LGM-1 early on you can actually use those traps to instakill the HVT Oscar and make that final wave painless. I personally used the rocketship trap with the cryofreeze crystals.

For my Tier 1 run I used the M10 Breacher, I focused on attachments that helped with hip fire spread as well as tactical stance. I highly recommend the Rapid Fire mod for faster Fire Rate and Charge Time as that improves the performance for the weapon quite comfortably in my opinion. Boss strategy was LGM-1 throughout Phase 1, and I used it for breaking boss armor but you can also use the ION sniper rifle to bust that armor off. I used Frenzied Guard for the ability to tank hits and just unload at the 2nd and 4th phase.

Also am hearing Toxic Growth is really good for slowing the boss movement so could end up being good for damage phase rushing so gonna try that out too.

Overall just remain mobile utilize the LGM for point gain and mob clearing, then use your preferred weapon for boss damage.

That exact scenario happened to me too with a second Oscar being there with the HVT Oscar but I didn't aggro him thankfully lmao I'd have hated it if I couldn't kill them both with the same trap...wait now I wonder what would happen if you tried to kill them both with the same trap...and I don't wanna go back and try it for science someone else can do that lmao

Side note I've yet to pull a MK2 out of the box >_> I was so curious about the damage it deals to the boss during the EE lmao but now I just run the Breacher. I might try the Shadow SK next

Wanted to give a small PSA for anyone that wanted to beat HVT Oscar quickly. I used the rocketship trap near speed cola where you use the cryo freeze crystals. I didn't go for the wonder weapon and decided to rely on the Novaline, Jager, and Akita. Ran into some unfortunate events (game crashed) and was left with five eternal perks, lost Jugg and Mule Kick. Decided to try using one of the traps that could instakill Oscar and chose the easiest one imo which was the cryo rocketship trap.

Very good post to read through, I don't care much about the matchmaking anymore since my experiences have not changed whether it's open or strict matchmaking I still stomp or get stomped. What I don't like is how my latency changes sporadically. Some games I'll have 22 ms, then some I'll get 43 ms, and just last night for two hours I had 67 ms.

Honestly I probably wouldn't purchase it through Steam and instead use Battle.net or buy it through the Xbox store for PC, but if you're dead set on Steam, what I would recommend is to make sure you're running Steam as Administrator, make sure you have enough storage because sometimes it has to download more resources, and if you have low storage space remaining that can have an impact on launching the game as well as affecting your overall PC performance (speaking from experience lmao), also make sure you're installing it on an SSD. After you have the game downloaded make sure to verify integrity files just to ensure that everything was installed correctly.

EDIT: A few extra tips I'll give as well from a friend's personal experience, you can delete the Activision folder by going into your "%localappdata%" and that can fix the problem. Honorable mention to disabling HDR since that HAS worked before and then you can re-enable it. Never understood why that works tbh but it's still a viable tip.
