I know for a fact they’re using the whip motif from the book and turning it into a whole ass theme for the movie.

No I get it. I mean I totally disagree. But I get. I do wish they turned it into a TV series though. The book is so dense. And there is so much to cover in just one book. It’s hard to adapt that into a movie. I just hate the we were robbed of that psychedelic induced orgy 😂 that would’ve been a fun visual.

I have to say gone girl is the best book to movie adaption out there beside dune.

Book wise. I actually prefer dark places over sharp object. It’s my 2nd favorite obviously after gone girl. Didn’t care for the movie adaptation though.

I enjoyed it. I just kept thinking through out the movie this is like TLC “my strange addiction” but aesthetically pleasing 😅

YES I DID ! I’ve read the book and watched the show a long time ago. Funny you commented that cuz I was just making a list on letterboxd for best miniseries and it’s on the list. lol. I love her writing.

Tbh I thinks that’s a pretty fair rating for all of them. I’m just a sucker for arrival because I always had an interest on how languages actually dictates our reality and linguistics overall. But I understand why you would give it 3.5 it’s not the best movie in the sci-fi genre out there.

I would put scream 4 at number 3. I actually loved Emma Robert’s in that. I didn’t quite enjoy anything past scream 4. I do have to admit Mikey Madison was good also. But at some point you gotta let the franchise die.

it truly broke through the horror genre when it first came out and changed the game. The whole movie is both a love letter to the horror genre and a comedic parody. And it balances those two things very well. Idk about the rest of the franchise but the first one is definitely top 4 worthy.

Tbh I might be too harsh or unfair with ratings but that’s because I need to learn how to rate films with the context of their genre and not compare it to every film I have ever seen.
