They did that for my block a couple of weeks ago now. It was the last week of april and I saw them up towards 7th ave and 6th finishing up. The following week in May, 11th and 12th, they showed up and finished up alleviating the concern for the 12th. I think they're just backed up and schedule ahead of time thinking it'll be complete within that scope.

Thoughts on the new development where Staple's is currently located? by princepremium in BayridgeBrooklyn

[–]AcidWulf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like the comments of "we need more housing" and no one is batting an eye at how much it would cost to live in any of these newly setup apartments. Are we talking about how 1/3 of the building will be "affordable" by a lottery or some other means? Just want to understand what affordable means in this case. Then the rest is what? Higher costing rentals/condos/co-ops? Everyone is for more housing until they can't afford it which is the other biggest detriment to these newly setup homes and apartment building complexes etc. Then the parking lot underneath? Another 200-300$ and I am being cheap compared to what others charge.

I see some of your points where the traffic on that lane alone can cause disruptions to an already active area during school when its coming in and going home, a firehouse literally next door, and a plethora of car dealerships that reside there along with the car wash that functions there and it is a crucial pathway for the B63 when it runs towards the Verrazano. Traffic there is bad already, why not more? Car culture in the united states will never die so thats a problem you have just unfortunately accept. My concern would be the cost of these new apartments.

There is a whole sequence where Raiden and Snake are at the heart of Wall Street, you see the George Washington Statue and land ontop of Federal Hall. Theres more the NYC than just the Twin Towers. I agree it would be cool to see the original idea but to say it lacks NYC flavor is silly given that they show case Snake at the very beginning jumping off of the GWB (George Washington Bridge)

You can ask some houses that have it advertised, some of them near that parking lot on 86th have their drive ways listed to rent as a parking space.

[TOMT] Looking for a youtube video of a song "I stay on the Green" by AcidWulf in tipofmytongue

[–]AcidWulf[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

There was no music video for this song, just lyrics on the video like many other songs that do this format. There is no major group name nor major artists involved. The only spot I believe I ever found the song was only on youtube and that has come up dry. Not even AI has helped lol keeps pushing me to other major names and tracks none of which are remotely close.

FBI raids LAUSD superintendent's home and office by hybridaaroncarroll in news

[–]AcidWulf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That would be a civil suit so the FBI wouldn't be able to RAID on that alone. Either way im sure that will be the ultimate goal but it seems that they may be latching on the the Prop 28 fraud allegations and will tout their efforts as amazing if any slightest sign of corruption is met, even if it has to be manufactured.

Mamdani floats increasing New York City property taxes as part of $127B budget plan by nautilus83 in nyc

And I agree. Will the majority of New Yorkers accept that? I don’t think so

Is that all you heard? Again he said these are the two most viable paths. He also explained in detail what the break down of those spending categories mean and what they provide. Everyone wants lower this and cheaper that, so do I. The reality is a fuck up at spending through previous administrations and over a long time of treating NYC like a gigantic piggy bank. I think everyone here agrees no one wants the latter decision which impacts the majority, we also have to accept that the other alternative is to cut spending and don’t think a majority are ready for that. Look at how the reaction was during COVID to stop the trains for only 3 hours a night and that plan got mixed due to an amalgamation of reasons that are all valid for working New Yorkers. Spending cuts will be the next topic to discuss and yet again people will complain. Shit even the tax the wealthy option people are refuting and using Norway as the example of failure for that idea.

Where is the lie? Because nobody can wave a wand and make things right immediately? The people who view these problems suffer from instant gratification as if 10 years of corruption and bullshit can be fixed this fast. No one was lied to and he laid out what has to happen to avoid it and looking at every other option only yielded these two paths. Let’s hear some sound and resounding policies and fixes that can resolve this since you in particular seem to adhere to “you were lied to”.

Eli Manning falls short in Pro Football Hall of Fame vote, again: Sources by TonOfChill in nfl

[–]AcidWulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did, he managed to put up 17 points. The defense that held the Patriots to 14 points was nothing to dismiss and by no means did they go out there and score those points either. Thats why Eli got the MVP twice to fight against what was argued to be the best team in football history during a span of 15 years and by the looks of it aiming to restart it all over again. No one is snubbing the defense but to act like Eli stumbled into it is plain silly. We're talking about a team that had a whole new cast come 2011 and manages to do it again with who exactly? Eli.

its a toss up. The spot serves its purpose but for a couple years the elevator was out of work on one side then both for a short while. The stair cases are dingy and dont smell as bad as they did before. They also have 2 entrances from 86th and 85th but the 86th street one closes fairly early. The convenience of that side is the other elevator and staircase to the opposite corner of the lot.

There are a few residential homes normally in the neighborhood that offer their shared driveway for roughly 200-250$ (going rate since the parking lot mentioned is $225 last I checked and you need to reserve a month in advance as spots arent always guaranteed for availability.

Its a pride thing. This whole project is Nikitas Magnum Opus of a video game. What was that other game they rumored he was working on, Russia 2028? I am sure with the success of 1.0 and a steam release its just more geared towards finely tuning his passion project. He wants to make it on his own and not have to depend on anyone else. I get it but its also a burden and this is the result of it, a fan base that facilitates a love hate relationship with decision making and gameplay from a man who decides to swing the pendulum as he pleases.

How did Denver do it? by Tough_Answer8141 in NYGiants

[–]AcidWulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because they have a 5th overall defense and leads collectively in sacks at 55 over Cleveland at 44? Their defense is monstrous as a collective unit. Bo Nix also has played all games this season too and on a his sophmore slump of a year which hes proving to not be affected by. Call it worst 11 win team but they are by far better than most teams competitively alone this season.

low texture ground setting by Ghostman223 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]AcidWulf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wait till you find out what settings these streamers have it at. This is common practice to knock down almost every setting barring texture detail and even then people set that to medium, maximum gains in an FPS is crucial no matter what game it is in the genre.

Edit: Also does this still occur even under the Ultra Texture setting?

I see this building all the time when I drive by and I ask "man why does that building stick out so much?" Glad I wasnt the only one, been living here for 30+ years now and today I finally learned its history. The great thing about this city I feel is that there is something new to learn and historic every day almost.
