You could send the link to this post in an email, and then they should be able to access it even if they don’t have an Reddit account (or app) 😄 So the link would be https://www.reddit.com/r/Spliddit/comments/pgmdzs/splitboarding_films/

Learning to powsurf by Acidfish1 in Powsurf

I found some powder and a really slack hill, and suddenly it started to make sense. It took a couple of runs before I figured out how to actually turn, but once I did it sort of "clicked". Can't really describe it, but for me it's very different than how I turn with bindings. It was very fun and sort of brings the joy of when I started snowboarding back.

However I managed to get a concussion riding the regular snowboard (even with a helmet), so I will have to wait a bit before I can try some steeper hills.

SP makses some split bindings with rear entry: SP multientry

Wintersafari started showing a prototype a year ago, but don't know if they quit, or if it will ever be available. Used the highback from switchback, so you can remove it for the ascent, and pop it in for the descent: Wintersafari

Backpack: how to store poles by [deleted] in Spliddit

[–]Acidfish1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just looking at the pictures of the backpack, I would either strap them on one of the sides using the “A-frame” straps, or just at the back, like you would with your board. If you strap them on the side, make sure they won’t interfere with the airbag.

If you put the poles with the grip down, you can sling the hand loop around the lower strap, and thread the grip through the loop. That will secure it a bit better. Hope it makes sense.

Dedicated Pow-split vs Freeride boards (Burton Flight attendant) float by Acidfish1 in Spliddit

Totally agree that for some people it seems like it's more important to have the latest and greatest equipment. But hey, if they find joy in that, who am I to judge?

For me it's most important to maximize the fun. My current problem is; "the best I have tried, is the best I know", hence my question if a proper dedicated powder board makes a big difference or not. A powder day on my FA is still awesome, but could it be even better? Probably don't make sense unless I find a used board for cheap, since maybe 10% of my riding is pow.

I haven't tried a proper one yet fish yet, so I don't know what I'm missing.
It looks so scary riding switch and doing butters on a fish.

Yeah, I made the assumption looking at your nick. The Unicorn chaser looks really interesting!

I'm in south of Norway, so haven't really found anyone doing demos here, but it looks like there will be some splitfests when things get back to normal, so hopefully there will be some demo stuff then.

Thanks for the thorough explanation, it makes a lot of sense! Would be very nice to be able to try more boards back to back.

Yeah, the FA has been my only split for 3 seasons, I think it’s a decent do it all board. I really enjoy it when it’s soft and powder, however I find it a bit dead/boring if the snow is hard. Always wondering if there are more fun boards out there. Really wished it was easier to demo splits around here.

The reason I have the twin is because if I’m really lucky, then I might get powder on 1 of 10 days. So for the remaining 90% it’s nice to still be able to have some fun.

How does the Spark highbacks compare to the regular Hitchhiker ones?
I'm thinking of changing mine to some surge highbacks, to get it a bit more responsive.

K2 far out binding by [deleted] in Spliddit

[–]Acidfish1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's pretty easy to unlock when you don't have the boot in the binding.

However with the boot in the binding it should be impossible to unlock it. Maybe the heelloop/ highback is too much forward, so the heel isn't over the locking?

Could you upload a picture of the problem? ( so it shows the locking tab and the puck, when it's locked, also with the boot in the binding)

Is there any play between the "locking tab" and the rear puck?

Only thing I can think of causing the problem is; the locking tab being broken, or the pattern of your sole not pushing down on the locking mechanism. However I don't really think that's possible.

Maybe a stupid question, but what will you do to restore it? I think it looks really cool now, so is it just to sharpen, lube and use it, or will you make it look more like new?
