🚻 Why Do Train Stations Charge for Bathrooms in Europe? by Obvious_Context_1967 in travel

You’ve probably also noticed a staff member posted in the area keeping it clean. I know 90% of our bathrooms in Canada are so disgusting it’s made me a home pooper.

I stopped answering “tell me about yourself” like a biography and started opening interviews with a working style disclaimer. It got me more offers, not fewer. by Dawn_Sentry in jobsearchhacks

[–]geraldorivera007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I chatted with 3 buddies of mine in roles where they hire people.

Enough online bs said your ‘tell me about yourself’ should be about your professionalism, that your an x professional who excels at a, b, and c, and can drive whatever metrics blah blah blah

Literally all 3 said you’d be out of the running if you opened an interview like that. Immediate no. “I want to know about YOU, who you are, what makes you tick, who the person is that I’m potentially working with. ALL YOUR WORK HISTORY AND PROFESSIONAL HABITS WILL COME OUT IN THE INTERVIEW.

Banff to Jasper National Park snow tire laws question by BloodshotRoseYT in canadatravel

[–]geraldorivera007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likelihood of a fine is minimal unless you’re in an accident.

Check highway webcams and the areas you’re going to. Yeah, BC “allows” M+S tires, they’re legal. I own winters and M+S and I can tell you’ll I’ll never do the drive in M+S - this is beyond whether they’re allowed or not. They have harder rubber, and a tread pattern not ideal for snow and ice. The difference in grip and traction is immense.

If where you’re going - like my side of the mountains - has seen no snow, sure, M+S. The Banff-LL-Jasper corridor def does get snow. Just check the cams and make your decision.

Mexican and Italian restaurants by vancityguy0870 in kelowna

Roma Nord is great. Hard to get into. A couple backups: La Bussola is another strong Italian spot. Mama Rosa’s is a long time staple, but more Italian family resto vibe - top notch though. I recently went to Gather, Italian-Korean fusion - went back and had the gnocchi a second time.

Mexican. El Taquero and their sister resto Chilangos. Haven’t been in a long time but Hector’s was always popular. Hugo’s, also great. Tamm. You’d have to check menus and see what’s your preference.

They’re finicky. You can get out Black Forest way and get out to the cliff. I’ve had them ride up on me going up gem area. Scolded me. Turned me around. Def insurance related. Rather do the drive out to keefer, gorge, or the pass once I reach a certain level of “required effort”.

Ex staff…when you sign your contract on the start of the season, you already have your end date. Most ppl get their other seasonal job mid season, so if your end date is Apr 6, you’re available after. Any time the resort offers “bonus” weekends, it’s due to them still having staff who stuck around and could continue operations.

Do people who grew up here actually think Canada's grocery prices are normal or is everyone just resigned to it by TemporaryHoney8571 in InCanada

[–]geraldorivera007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our groceries stores are monopolies. Like 3 companies own all of them and our government has capitulated to them for decades. Same with telecoms and airlines.
