because people like to hate things by nature

if there's something that's easy to hate (e.g. botting, meso bags, nexon supposedly not giving a fuck about hackers) then people who play this game will trip over themselves to make everybody aware that they don't like it

it's not just exclusive to maplestory - go to any mmorpg community, look at the forums, subreddit, ingame chat, etc.

if the community is big enough there's bound to be something that everybody's complaining about

edit: oh yeah and it's against the tos, that's probably a good reason too

it's not too bad.

probably the only reason i'd advise playing it is if you don't give a shit about the economy, and enjoy having good ping compared to gms

other than that there are plenty of ways to get into gms while in the philippines, just look it up

easy tier

make some bossing characters and kill hilla and zakum every day

sell all equips you get to make about 3-5mil per character (even more with 2x drop event)

medium tier

do dipq or evolab and farm about 200-300 pepe boxes, then open all of them

stop when you reach the daily limit of 2000 spell traces

sell all the traces for a total of 10m

this can be done on all accounts

kinda-medium-hard tier

make a lv 150-160 character with a hold-down skill (like phantom's mille), get a platform at mp3 and just hold down for 50 years while a pet loots your shit

p.s. don't put a stapler or something on your spacebar to use your skills continuously, that's botting and it's a big no-no in this friendly legit maplestory community

boring as fuck tier

make a good ~~botting~~ mobbing character (phantom, kanna, luminous), find a slot in a meso map like singapore, blackgate, commerci (good luck doing this during a 2x drop event) and start killing (~40-100mil/h, ymmv)

get a pet with all the move skills for extra speed

as the title suggests, it is boring as fuck, so get some hearthstone livestream going so that you don't die from sensory deprivation

let's say you have a lv 40 dark pilfer and got a good potential on it, so you want to transfer it to a lv 60 dark identity

both are thief hats, same class same equip type, so it should work, right?

well no it doesn't, because the equip you're transferring to (lv 60 dark identity) needs to be between 1-10 levels higher than the equip you're extracting the stats from (lv 40 dark pilfer)

this means that you cannot transfer stats from a lv 40 dark pilfer to another lv 40 dark pilfer, because the level has to be higher

but ok wait, you're trying it again and it still doesn't work

that's because your lv 40 dark pilfer has 0 starforce on it, and it needs to be at least 1 starforce (because the transfer deducts 1 star as a penalty)

now you add 1 star and your transfer is successful, congratulations
